Mask of Judas formed officially in 2005 and throughout their existence have been determined to make a resounding impact on the world of metal. With influences ranging between Lauren hill and Emperor, the group has sought to combine all their personalities and create music they feel is unique to themselves. Front-woman Jo’s ability to sing so sweetly and then shake the gates of hell with screams, is complimented by a band who have the ability to change between hardcore thrash and chill out grooves in the blink of an eye.
An intense live show, Mask Of Judas give everything they have, making sure each riff is pummelled into the ears of the audience and logged in the brain with vicious guitars and unforgiving drumming.
And as for our name…
Judas Iscariot was the disciple who betrayed Jesus. While we are not a religious band, our name represents the concept of a person's true identity being revealed from beneath a deceitful mask, or even the revelation to ourselves of a side we never knew existed as part of us. Another representation is the vision of society as Judas. On one side is a part you love and enjoy and on the other is a kind of solitary hate, which stems from an over-bearing world. Whatever the interpretation, the resultant anger is what encourages us to rise above and become better people. Our music is our safe release from all the frustrations of our daily lives. We treat people how we would wish to be treated.
I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a link to the video for a new tune called Run Bobby Run:
I will do, just need to try and sort out some software issues my end (at the moment I have very little editing available to me, as you can see, the pictures still have red eye etc which needs sorting)
thanks again for tonight guys, youre quite the inspiration for me! its great to have a technically talented band nearby AND who i get to play shows with! always makes me want to do better. next time i will sell a bollock to the devil or something and pack out a venue (chichester? brighton?) with metal heads and get you the moshing you deserve *ps- thanks for the kiss Andy -MWAH-
