    Molly Robison has been playing piano since the age of two, guitar since the age of eleven, and singing probably since birth. A native of the northern suburbs of Chicago, Molly started playing local shows in her town around the age of thirteen. She has been lucky enough to catch some breaks, such as being one of the opening bands for Flogging Molly at The Rave in Milwaukee at the age of sixteen, and performing twice with the Dresden Dolls. Currently a student at Columbia College Chicago, Molly also plans to be a music director for theater performances. Some of her main influences are Elliott Smith, The Beatles, The Tallest Man on Earth, Fionn Regan, Regina Spektor and Amanda Palmer. Her first EP, Bedrooms & Attics, will be released in March of 2011.

Bio:

I was born into a completely non-musically inclined home. I don't know why I decided to pick up piano, but I did. I took lessons for six years, starting in kindergarten, but never learned how to read music. After six years, I figured I'd just learn the rest by ear.

When I was 11, I got my first guitar. Again, I have no idea how the idea of playing guitar permeated my brain, as I'd never even touched one before, but there you have it. I fell in love. I taught myself how to play, and I haven't been able to set the damn instrument down since.

I've been writing my own music since the end of 2004, and I'm hoping to improve some over time. Hopefully I'll be able to get everything professionally recorded sometime soon and be able to put out a full-length, considering that I've been recording everything in my basement so far.

I've had the distinct honor of performing with the Ditty Bops and the Dresden Dolls, as well as opening for Flogging Molly.
