Molly Trull is a 19 year old sophomore at the University of Missouri in Columbia. She has been playing the piano since the age of six, played trumpet in marching band in junior and senior high, played the piano in the school jazz band for four years and started taking guitar at age 13. Somewhere during that time (around the age of 16) she started singing, writing songs and performing publicly. Her senior year of high school she put together a band for a Battle of the Bands competition. One of her prizes for winning was the opportunity to record a CD of original songs at Red Boots Studio in Columbia with Barry Hibdon in the summer of 2008.
"Change My Mind" Battle of the Bands at The Blue Note, May 2008:
This past summer Molly jumped at the chance to record some of her more recent songs with Walt Wilkins and Ron Flynt at Jumping Dog studios in Austin TX, which remains a work in progress. Walt also invited Molly to perform a set of originals at the legendary outdoor stage at Luckenbach, a phenomenal experience.
"Boxes" live at Luckenbach, August 2009
In the Columbia/Jefferson City area Molly and her band Anodyne have been fortunate enough to play at venues such as the Blue Note, Mojos, Cherry St. Artisan, and the Missouri Theater, opening for Pieta Brown, the Clumsy Lovers, Backyard Tire Fire and Macon Greyson, Cameron McGill and What Army among others. They recently performed as part of the Bluebird Music and Arts Festival.
Though she often performs solo sets, Molly enjoys rocking out with her band Anodyne whenever possible. Current band members include Cooper Livingston on the bass and Shea Spence on the drums, with Matheus Souza playing violin when his schedule permits.
Molly was also named a winner in the Youth Category of the 2009 Mountain Stage Newsong contest for songwriters. This award has prompted the realization that this Myspace page is in desperate need of renovation.......
