   About Moments of Imagination
Moments of Imagination (MOI): Synopsis December 2008 In the winter of 2002, Moments of Imagination began to construct a formation, but it took until the spring to finalize our lineup. This progressive musical identity has been an interesting experience to be a part of. The musical instrumentation, as well as the lyrical and conceptualized themes have together forged a world artistically that we needed to share with everyone. During the genesis of our progressive movement(2002-2004), we wrote two albums worth of material while playing a hundred shows across the Northeast United Sates. The only official recording released during those years was the "Lakeffect Ep"(November 2003). It was recorded at Sound Station Seven in Providence, RI from June-September, and it only consisted of three songs; Reawakening, Balance, and Lakeffect I.. In October, half of the band made the trek to New York City to master the EP at Sterling Sound. Needless to say, we were all pleased with the mastering production. The "Lakeffect" theme was musical concept that we wanted to continue to evolve. In 2002 we wrote Lakeffect I. as well as the foundation of what would become Lakeffect II.Before the group went on hiatus in the spring of 2004, Lakeffect III. began to materialize in different segments. In the year of 2006, Lakeffect IV was written and is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2009. Eventually, the idea is to release a compilation of all the "Lakeffect" songs in a box set including a DVD of each tracked performed live. The songs that were written between the years 2002-2004 were; Lakeffect I., Lakeffect II., Lakeffect III., Ontological, Alluring Distraction, Resistance, Balance, Departure of a Soul, Climbing the Ladder, Within the Scene, Unconscious, The Indecision Complex, Reawakening, Between the Spaces Where Silence Sleeps, The Firmament, and Figment. During the two year hiatus from the May of 2004 through March 2006 the writing process continued. Many of the songs written in 2005 will be released on "The Indecision Complex" album, which is scheduled for a February 2009 release. This collection of songs feature more groove oriented progressive material, separating itself from our earlier heavier approach. The songs are as follow; Ezra, Adaptation, Five, Spine Alignment, Walking, Politicians, There are no accidents, The Gates, Lyrically your not, War on Drugs, Morning Star, and We don't have souls. "The Indecision Complex" is our first official album release(scheduled for Feb.2009), and its been a rather extensive recording process. Pre-production demos began to surface in the summer of 2006, but it wasn't until the late fall of 2008 that all tracking of the record neared completion. We decided to compile the best songs from our progressive genesis with some of the groove oriented songs written in 2005, and here is the track listing that we have decided; Departure of a Soul, Unconscious, Within the Scene, Climbing the Ladder, Lakeffect II, The Indecision Complex, Ezra, Adaptation, Walking, Five, and Politicians. The remaining songs might be recorded at a later date, and released as a b-side compilation. After the new album is released in February 2009, the goal is to harness the momentum by recording a second album to be released in the Summer/Fall 2009. Many of the songs that are scheduled for that record were written in 2006 and include; Lakeffect IV, Snake in the Grass, Explanation, Collapse to Relapse, Laxidasical, Tuesday, and Midi 2. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moments of Imagination: New Album: "The Indecision Complex" The track listing for The Indecision Complex is a combination of different progressive, psychedelic, and other unique genre blending compositions. All of songs were written between the years 2003-2005, with exception of the instrumental titled "Five", which was written in 2006. Lyrically, the themes and syncopated word play expressed are unrelated conceptually from track to track, and the album strays far from a concept record. However, when choosing the album title "The Indecision Complex" we felt that the lyrics and title of the song tied into the overall atmosphere in the studio while recording. The hiatus in the spring of 2004, the pre-production demos in 2006, and then finally the post production in the winter of 2008, all contributed to the feeling of indecision. All of the drums were recorded first. Each drum track was recorded to a metronome, and every instrument to follow was recorded separately at different times. We hope you enjoy what we made you.
