Momentum Ensemble has collaborated with Viva Voce Choir http://www.vivavoce.org.uk directed by Tony Jones. They have also collaborated with Poets at the Callander Peoetry Festival.
Momentum Ensemble is the name of the ensemble that was formed by Liz Price in early 2006 as both a phsical ensemble probably of differing players depending on the concert, but above all embracing a concept in music performance of inclusivity of all involved no matter in what way. It was inspired in part by the concept of Indra's web that of connectedness and in part through a an insight gained whilst on a Landmark education Self Expression and Leadership programme. It is a call to bring certain values into the music making experience - that of respecting each performer as a person first, to make the experience of meeting up
to play music together an inclusive and welcoming one, to fully acknowledge - on the part of the musicians - that the experience is one shared by more than just the players and involves the audience, and those who make it possible in so many other ways. In creating this environment of of respect, it also enables everyone to contribute their very best. In particular the concept came through a train of though around players inhibited by a sense of musical status, of making it or not making it, of being good enough etc. in the context of momentum ensemble these states of mind and the attitudes that contribute to them - snobbism, cliqueishness, rivalry etc fall away. It is hoped that for some at least this will create the conditions to overcome obstactles of lack of confidence which deny not only them but all of us the talent of a person that under existing conditions may be struggling to emerge.

"The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy
