Heroes
Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord. My husband, Dustin, who has stood by my side, loved, and encouraged me for all these years, and helped me become "MomRN", so I could help you. And my children, who inspire me and make being a mom so much fun!
Whether you are a brand new parent or have teenagers leaving the nest in a few short years, there will be many times when you need advice, support, and encouragement to help you travel the journey through parenthood. MomRN is here to help you on this path. Her sixteen years of motherhood, plus three years as a pediatric nurse, a dozen years as a professional child care provider, and growing up as the oldest sibling of six children has given MomRN a wide variety of experience in caring for children and a unique parenting expertise. She has used this expertise to help thousands of parents as they strive to be the best parents they can be and wants to share that help with you.
MomRN, aka Tamara Walker, R.N., is just plain "Mom" to two teenagers, and has been offering support, information, advice, and encouragement to parents on her website, www.MomRN.com, since 2001. (MomRN.com is currently being renovated and the new site will be revealed later this spring. In the meantime, we'd love to have you interact with us here on MySpace and on BlogTalkRadio.)
MomRN has had numerous articles featured in parenting magazines, newspapers, and several parenting websites, in addition to writing the monthly column, "Everyday Parenting", for Edmond Illustrated Magazine (2004-2005). She has been teaching child/teen safety and abduction prevention workshops for kids and parenting groups, schools, daycares, churches, and families for four years. She has been interviewed as a child safety expert on her local Oklahoma City news channels and on the Oklahoma City TBN Network affiliate. In 2006, she was asked by the national Trinity Broadcasting Network to write and film "Safety Smarts", short safety tips segments, to air in between their kids shows on The Smile of A Child Network. The producers of the Rachael Ray Show also called Tamara and requested a video featuring one of MomRN's parenting tips, for a parenting segment which aired on March 6, 2007. The video is available to view at:
MomRN hosted a monthly parenting talk show on an Oklahoma City radio station for two years (2004-2006) and is very excited to make the transition to internet radio on BlogTalkRadio.com starting in early April 2008. Join MomRN each week on BlogTalkRadio.com to ask parenting questions and discuss a variety of parenting topics that will help and encourage you on your parenting journey. We'd love to hear your ideas for topics and issues, so please let us know what you want to hear about on the show!
You are also invited to message MomRN with your parenting questions and read the parenting articles on MomRN's blog. She will be posting articles on a regular basis and looks forward to answering your questions.
Who I'd like to meet: Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and anyone who loves kids and wants to share advice, encouragement, and support with each other!
Hi Tamara I meant every word I said!!! I am having some trouble with my back and the doctor gave me a muscle relaxer today and it isn't suppose to make you sleep but it does me, lol, I am sensitive to certain meds. I will be sleeping well tonight I am sure!!! Thank you so much for asking me how I am doing.
I am okay. My lung collapsed. That started things. 2 more surgeries and I should be a new model or the old version or something like that.... lol... Gallbladder, reflux, neck surgery. Nothing fun!
Thanks...they loaded me up on the meds so I'm already feeling better. My throat hurts less and my lungs don't feel as tight so I think I'm finally on the road to recovery! :) It serves me right for waiting a week and a half to go to the doctor!
Awww, thank you for those kind words to me. I missed your show yet again, sorry, I had a bad morning and didn't wake up till 10:30 a.m. so missed Nikki's show from AZ too, bummer on both accounts.
It can be tough trying to remember so many people so quickly :-) Believe me, I know!! I can be found many places as well as BlogTalk as Spoiledbrunette :-) Enjoyed chatting with you! ~~Have a great day~~ Kelly
