Books
MySpace for Moms and Dads (That's why you're here, right?) If you don't yet have your own copy of the book, I recommend that you get it. You can learn more about it and order at www.ConnieNeal.com. Without reading it, this page may not make much sense. The book will be released in late January 2007. You can also get it through Borders Books and Music, your local Christian retailer, or at www.Amazon.com.
About me: Hi!
I'm Connie Neal, author of MySpace for Moms and Dads, just released from Zondervan Publishers. This page is devoted to carrying on interaction with the other parents who read this book and want to try out the things I refer to in the book.
I plan to have a blog for each chapter that has the opportunity to try something out on MySpace. There I will give detailed instructions about how to do the things mentioned in the book. This will allow the information to remain up-to-date as MySpace continues to develop.
Since the publisher moved up the release date, I don't have all the chapters how-to blogs posted yet, but I'm working on it so stay tuned.
I hope you enjoy the book when it is released. ~ Connie
If you are looking for more general information from me or are interested in some of my other books check out www.ConnieNeal.com since this page is dedicated to moms and dads interested in MySpace for the sake of their teens.
Who I'd like to meet: Other moms and dads who are interested in social networking and how to make sure their teens are safe and participating wisely.
I welcome invitations to give a workshop or address at your convention, parenting group, school, library, or church. If interested go to www.ConnieNeal.com and see the "Speaking" page.
I randomly bought your book one day, and then I was reading it and you mentioned that you talked to a Sacramento-area cop, and I was like. "OMFG OMFG LOCAL WRITER!".
and uh yeah.
by the way I liked the book. it was better than Generation Myspace, that book was too heavy on "THIS IS BAD OMFG WORRY ABOUT THIS" and I didn't like that.
We can't host you in October. We're moving our campus. However, email me with possible dates. I'll connect you with some good churches in the area.
Also, your book isn't just for MOM's and DAD's. I passed it around the office to get several of our pastors with Ludite-tendencies up to speed on social networking. Seems that some of our adults use social networking to avoid hard marriages and to find instant gratification on the 'Net.
