OK... here's the skinny on MOMS ROCKET:
"The Olympia-based quartet… rock(s) with an attitude. With basic rock ’n’ roll chord structures, hard crashing rhythms and plenty of volume, Moms Rocket are an in-your-face kind of band. With just a little twang, they are a bit like Lynyrd Skynyrd on steroids". — Tony Engelhart, Weekly Volcano, Jan 31, 2008
Jason & Tom started out in the basement doing acoustic jams. They tricked Jeff into sitting in and then coaxed Randy into the mix. They recorded a couple of jam sessions and things sounded pretty cool. Then someone said "hey Jason, why don't you bring your electric guitar?"... next thing ya know they're a rock band. Shortly there after they got a call from long-time friend John Dammeier who asked if he could produce a record... Once the CD was finished they thought they better set up some shows… and BAM! Here you are.
MOMS ROCKET has had a very successful 2007 & 2008 playing over 50 shows throughout Western Washington…some for a handful of people, some with several thousand in attendance, and many in-between. MOMS ROCKET has also distributed over 2,500 self produced CD’s. They have had the opportunity to gig with many great bands. MOUNTAIN SONG has been played on the radio several times.
MOMS ROCKET would like to give a special thanks to Damon Stewart and Funky Monkey 104.9 FM for supporting local music and hosting Garage Monkey every Tuesday night from 8:00 to 10:00... and if you don't get radio reception you can always do the live stream by going to www.funkymonkey1049.fm
