"monday monday" is a concert-quality musical group whose live appearances deliver a memorable world class sight and sound experience for all ages. Their vocal-harmony based songs from the late '60s and early '70s showcases "The Mama's & the Papa's" sure-fire hit tunes and other dynamic folk / pop / rock / sounds that were pioneered by a new creative generation of musical artists. Their STAGE VERSATILITY to perform as either a straight acoustic vocal foursome able to accompany themselves on guitars, flute, and percussion OR as a full 7-piece band which includes their own instrumental and vocal abilities augmented by bass and drums is offered depending on the venue. Regardless of booking the foursome or full 7-piece group, "Monday, Monday" will leave their audience wanting to hear more!
Laurie Shamone
(Soprano/Alto voices) North Carolina-born Laurie is classically trained in piano and voice. A self-described "folky" while in college, she embarked on a performance career accompanying herself on piano and opened for national artists such as Richie Havens. After college, she was featured in "Cabaret" and "Off-Broadway" type shows for many years. She has a love for the "torch-songs" of the 30's and 40's, and cites Joni Mitchell as one of her many influences.
Tim Hamm
(1st tenor voice and guitars) Born in Pennsylvania, Tim grew up in Clearwater, Florida. He was inspired to sing, learn harmony, and play guitar by the onset of groups and artists such as "The Beatles", Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, CSNY, and James Taylor. He recorded with the Christian band "Chalice" in the 70's on the "Starsong Records" label. Most recent band of note is "Stringworx", whose precision musicianship and intricate vocals have been featured at many club venues throughout Central Florida.
Pam Zeitler
(Alto/Soprano voices & percussion) Originally from Illinois, her early musical development in the Chicago area included singing in choir and mixed ensembles and stage performances with the Serbian Dance Group “Tesla”. Early musical influences include Motown music, Styx, New Colony Six, and The Buckinghams. Long since a resident of Florida, Pam has recently performed with local "big band sound" groups, and the local duo "Simply Fab" showcasing tunes from the 60's and 70's.
Michael Taylor-Powers
(2nd tenor voice and guitars) From an Arizona-based musical family, singing was an early passion. Learning the guitar, moving to L.A. after High School, and stints in a few garage bands resulted in a tour of Eastern Canada as lead guitarist with the Rod Stewart tribute group "Lightning Rod", and a subsequent move to Florida. Recent local groups: "Rubber Soul", "Mother Hubbard", and "Boink". Main influences: classical music, "The Beatles", Paul Simon, CSNY, and "Led Zeppelin".
Letter from Producer, David Kemler: Monday Monday! What a group of absolutely fantastic professional entertainers!
During my many years of producing, managing and packaging in the entertainment business, it is truly rare when you are able to find such a gem of musical talent such as Monday Monday! David Kemler www.davidkemler.info
Letter From Entertainment and the Arts Radio, LLC: When my co-host John DiSanza and I featured "Monday Monday on Entertainment and the Arts in November 2008, we were BLOWN AWAY by their incredible sound! They are all consummate musicians, each with years of musical experience and expertise. We quickly got them onboard to perform the next month at our Holiday Concert, presented in conjunction with WTAN Radio, Stage Door 13 and Francis Wilson Playhouse. They were even better in December! This group is destined to go a long way, and we certainly plan to enjoy the ride! Brenda Martin Producer and Co-Host Entertainment and the Arts Radio,LLC www.entertainmentandthearts.com
