Semi-electronic psychedelia with a hippie-flavour? Neo-garage rock for basement show kids in an electro style?
Whatever it is, it sure is head-bopping, spastic, flailing fun. Mondo Fumatore, hailing from Berlin, this trio originally started back in 1998 with a rave reviewed album on Rewika Records. Since the drummer left the band pretty much after the first tour, they went on as a duo and started to digitalize their kind of fuzzy indierock sound (ranging from Beck to Sebadoh, but also from The Beatles to Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (the garage years) from album to album. Go wrenche the grounds and exploit the achievements of the pre-sampling-era on the basis of a dictaphone with Mondo Fumatore!
Nowadays Mondo Fumatore have found themselves a new drummer - you might know him: the fabulous O-Love! And they have somewhat returned to a more mature, rock'n'roll sound, of course without leaving the achievements of former electro years behind.

Am kommenden Sonntagabend den 20.07. bin ich mit meiner E-Gitarre zu Gast bei tvnoir. de - eine illustre "Wochenschau der Singer/Songwriter" im Berliner Cafe Edelweiss.
Kommt vorbei liebe Berliner, hört euch in entspannter Atmosphäre ein paar schrammelige Angelika Lieder an und plaudert anschliessend mit mir noch bei einem Gläschen über dies und det.

Ihr Angebot, aufs Hausdach zu klettern und dort ein bisschen was zu rauchen, nahm er ohne Zögern an. Dafür war man schließlich in einer Band, Wandermusiker, heute hier / dann doch dort / abends schon längst fort. Allzeit bereit, immer breit.
ACHAAAH! Hab ein angenehmes Pfeifen im Ohr - war ein sehr schönes Konzert gestern. Da habt ihr ein bisschen lebensfrohes Berlin ins kühle Hamburg gebracht. Bedank dafür!

Wow, ihr wart echt super im MUZ Club, das war das beste Konzert seit ganz langem. Sorry nochmal, dass ich Oli's Mondonamen nicht wusste, aber da muss er durch. ...war super-schön euch zufällig bei meinem Ulm Aufenthalt im Salon Hansen zu entdecken...es war ein tolles Konzert!!! ...die Begegnung mit Gwendoline vor der Damentoilette, die ja gar nicht bestetzt war :-), war sehr witzig... ...gracias Miguel für die nette CD-Beratung...die neue Platte ist suuuper!
