There are many many others we have unintentionally left out-- everything from traditional, celtic rock, classical, classic rock, punk, jazz, blues, folk and many local Denver/Boulder area musicians and friends. Our main influences right now are each other. Like a family finishing each others' sentences, one musician starts with a simple phrase or rhythm, another picks it up, and before you know it a new unique arrangement is born
The band Mondragon has been in existence since 2003, and many knew the original players in such places as The Colorado and Arizona Renaissance Festivals, the Norman Oklahoma Medieval Fair, The Cheshire Cat, The Jazzy Bean, Saxby's Coffee, various weddings, MHCD's Market with a Heart, and The Art Affaire fundraisers. Since then, it has re-charged and is ready to offer an expanded repertoire and new instrumentation for its tunes and vocals. Debut performances of the new ensemble include Conor O'Neill's, The Cheshire Cat, , The Royal Hilltop, and the Jet Hotel.
Mondragon is a collective of musicians whose roots delve into folk, classical, jazz, and rock, and it blooms with a style quite unique from the garden variety Celtic ensemble. The band is known to take on traditional tunes and flirt with dimension. Whether it be through a harmony or an unexpected turn, the result is delightful and often mesmerizing. Mondragon possesses a deep love for both historical tradition and contemporary style. The band is comfortable and affable in all venues, and its energy is downright contagious.
