Brian Smith is from Oberlin, Louisiana and grew up listening to the sounds of all the popular cajun and zydeco musicians around. He got his first accordion at the age of seventeen and learned by ear. Made his first recording on the DI's Cajun Jammers volume II. A few years later he gathered up some of his good friends that he played with at different venues and recorded Mon et Mes Ami "Me and My Friends". Mon et Mes Ami was nominated by the Cajun French Music Association in 2002 for the best first recording. Now he plays with the Triangle Aces.
