$$The Money Kids$$ were formed in 2006 when Candy Lawrence and Lauren Lapkus realized they were in love with each other. This chemistry translates onstage, and their energy invites the audience to join them in their eccentric world. With dollar store props and beautiful wigs, these girls produce a high quality show that will have you laughing uncontrollably—whether you want to or not.
The girls have entertained audiences all over Chicago, from The Lakeshore Theater to Queen of Angels Parish, as well as iO Chicago, The Annoyance, The Playground Theater, The Apollo Theater and Donny’s Skybox at Second City, where they were voted Best Lead Female Performers in the 2007 Donny Awards. No matter how large or small the venue, their material is always well received by audience members and critics alike. Featured in a two-page spread in the Chicago Reader, they also appeared on NBC’s “In the Loop with iVillage” in February of 2008, performing improv with Hal Sparks. They performed at the 2008 Chicago Sketchfest and Snubfest, and were also invited to perform at DC Comedy Fest. The girls are moving to New York City in September 2008.
