| General | music, music, music!!!! I am going through my second adolescents right now. Going to concerts and festivals. I love live music. I also love art and creativity. Socially I like going out with my mates, for pub drinks, meals and maybe bowling etc and I love red wine... mmmm!!!!

 | | Music | All sorts of music I have seen and love, such as: Tracey Chapman, David Bowie, Evanescence, Blue (ok a friend took me!) sum41, slipknot, korn, Lemar, gabrielle , lional richie, skin and quite a few I can't remember, its all good! during 2005 I have been to the Download Festival and Leeds fest. Saw Foo Fighers for the first time, who were awesome, kings of Leon were great and My chemical romance. I love indie pop mixed up with a bit of goth lol. LIke Evanescence. Oh and Keane, killers, Keiser cheifs, Chili peppers and Athlete. The list is endless.
| | Movies | Update, still seeing the younger films as my son is still only 12, but have recently seen and enjoyed: King Kong, The Island, Narnia and really looking forward to seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2. My all time favs would include, The crow, Dusk till Dawn, Pulp Fiction, The Lost Boys, The Lord of the Rings films, Harry Potter (yeah well the kid is still in me!) Would love to see Philip Pullman's Trilogy made into a film, far better than the Potter books. | | Television | Ok, I admit to watching soaps and why not? I also enjoy a bit of good British humour such as Little Britain, The Fast Show, 2 pints and a packet of crisps etc, love that kind of dry wit humour. Otherwise television kind of sucks at the moment, nothing worth taping or staying in for. Did I say telly sucks at the moment? What an understatement, it's all reality tv!!!! What happened to well made british films and series that made you think? It's like we're being rationed. I have enjoyed Lost and soon will be lost without it as it is drawing to an end. | | Books | Presently reading a Tom Sharpe book, its quite funny and easy reading. Big Chief Elisabeth is a good if u like history by Giles Milton, Tandia by Bryce Courtenay, Frankenstein by Shelley, Frank Mcourt's ~ Tis, Maya Angelou with her series beginning ~ I know why the caged bird sings and not forgetting where my interest in reading began by reading Catherine Cookson and Virginia Andrews, books that inspire are just as important as books holding pure talent in them. Oh I also think Philip Pulman books are excellent, the Northern Lights series, don't be put off by them being young readers books. | | Heroes | I think Maya Angelou could be classed as a hero, certainly someone that has risen from as low as u can go and shown the world what she is made of. A hereo to me is someone who takes life with both hands and makes it work for them, not sit back and hope for the best. |

Hi,
I'm down to earth, feet firmly on the ground and a single parent. My son is nearly a teenager (yes i'm expecting him to turn into a Kevin any moment now!) and I work full time as a teacher.
Please can men from Nigeria and Asia generally stop sending me messages offering me their undying love and devotion! It's a load of bollocks and no! no! no! I don't want to marry you!!!!! I don't want to bring up your children!!!! And I don't want to bring a total stranger into my sons life. It's madness!!!!
I'm glad I got that off my chest! I am... a normal lady, who is semi-intelligent (I have my blonde moments) I live in the Mids in the UK and have a bit of a dry wit. I love live music and comedy. Last year I went to 2 rock festivals (Download and Leeds) and saw Little Britain in Cardiff. A lot of what I do is with my son as I have been single for quite a long time, but this is not a problem. I'm not looking for Mr Right, i'm sure he will find me.
This year I would love to learn how to scuba dive and ski, but this largely is reliant on money and if I can keep away from the sales (yes i'm a woman I love shopping lol) I have to say, I prefer shopping alone tho so I don't drag poor unsuspecting men round with me asking if 'does my bum look big in this!' I just impulse buy in my own time. I can't help but feel sorry for those poor guys waiting outside the changing rooms. Bless...
Anyway thats it really. I'm not a totally hard and harsh cow, but when u come on here to find 6 messages and they're all off ppl quoting poetry at you and telling u that ur stunning (which I know i'm not) then it does get a bit much.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who like to converse. People who have interest and intelligence. U have to be patient when I say who are u? for the 3rd time, cos I had a brain virus 16 years ago and its F*** up my short term memory, but don't think that means i'm totally dippy as I got my degree and qualified as a teacher years later. I can be determined when necessary, but would rather chill a little and enjoy the time on this earth I have been given. I enjoy people who like music, especially live music, which is awesome (rock is best!) but other genres are fine to. I like a bit of rnb, some pop and some totally off ur face stuff. I enjoy laughing and particularly enjoy British humour etc, would love to enjoy the laughing with a friend, although my son is very in tune with my humour and we do laugh a lot together. I dislike men who are all grown up and sensible, yuk!!! But at the same time, u have to know when to stop and be serious, like when the cat gets ran over.
