Established in 2006 by long time friends Michael Camaleri and Martin Halo, the Downtown Money Waster is bridging the gap between the old standards of American cultural legend and the ideals of the modern recording industry.
Vowing to revive the allure of our artistic cultural heritage, The Downtown Money Waster is shying away from the banter of tabloid journalism and the agenda of commercialized media giants to deliver our audience with a publication focused on one thing: the music.
Downtown Money Waster Editor At Large, Martin Halo, graduated from Monmouth University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Journalism & Public Relations and a minor in Musicology. Starting his career as a student journalist for the University's publication his writing soon led him to the pages of the Aquarian Weekly based out of Little Falls,New Jersey.
Within six months of graduating college Martin's journalistic endeavors yielded a series of interviews which included Jack White, Ziggy Marley, Beck and Gregg Allman launching his carreer and placing him in the center of national Music Journalistic affairs.
In addition to being the Editor at the Downtown Money Waster Martin still contributes on a regular basis to the rock news organizations of Jambase based out of San Fransico, California Skope Magazine, and the Aquarian Weekly.
His dealings included clients of Nasty Little Man, Madison House, Press Here, and BWR publicity houses, as well as the record companies of Sup Pop, Atlantic, Columbia, Geffen, and Warner Brothers.
These relationships, developed under the guidance of his peer writers, have yielded a comprehensive understanding of the inner workings of journalism rooted in the nexus of the music industry's national affairs. The result was a client list strong enough to branch off and co-create a journalistic brainchild, The Downtown Money Waster.
