'mongrol tide is performing next to me as i am making this weeks charts and adds. woot woot. leslie and kate invited them to their show after they saw them last night in portland. theyre pretty good. two piece: amped acoustic guitar (high gain gives it a great texture) and drums. with singing. they call it folk metal. actually an interesting hybrid that works pretty well. they did a cover of leonard cohens hallelujah that was badass.. the lead singer/guitarits busted out this weird twisted horn for the last song. a ram horn. not brass horn. to sing through and play.
UPDATE: i was told that after kate, leslie, and mongrol tide returned to wbor from joshuas to load out their gear, lead singer yonah (who had only had a couple beers) suddenly smashed his acoustic guitar to pieces. his bandmate merely rolled his eyes while leslie fled to the bathroom in terror.. so if you see shards of wood in the carpet at the station. thats why.'
