"3C's, Captivating, Creative, and Complex." That is how Monika would describe the taste of her music. “The unpredictable side of my taste is what sustains my passion for music. There isn’t one type of genre I’m not listening to and I get bored easily so I like change and variety in music.”
Influenced by hip-hop, funk, jazz, and soul, Monika strives to blend the essence of emotion with a touch of entertainment into her music. “That’s partially the reason why I like funk and hip-hop music so much.” The word funk derives from the word stink—an unwanted smell. So in a way, funk expresses the opposite of what is accepted or polite in society. “And I like music that is rebellious and not ‘polite’ because it opens the door to progress into new and creative music. I try to stay on that path”
A smooth, melodic voice with a vocal range of 5 octaves, Monika has a fresh style and versatile flow that is uniquely her own.
“As a singer and songwriter, I just want to be able to make good music and keep the listeners entertained!”
From songwriting to arranging vocals, and all the way to performance, there seems to be nothing in Monika's way. Stay Tuned!!
