Monium is a label dedicated to the exploration of analogue and digital approaches to sound, performance, recording, film and text based in Birmingham(UK).
Founded in 2007, Monium is a creative space for artists to explore unique and distinctive music that melds precise work and spontaneous enthusiasm with a sense of continuity.
The artists on Monium represent a diverse range of practice but all are united by a spirit of exploration focused on creativity and self-expression. Their work traverses a wide range of areas from rhythmic composition to abstract sound fields, and features extended improvisation as a recurrent theme.
Monium releases material in a variety of formats (including CD, CDr, Super 8 film and vinyl) and design presentations in order to foster an eclectic and encompassing environment within the label, and to disseminate creativity with as few of the attendant issues related to production as possible.
