Michael's Interests
|
| General | I'm a fairly good cartoonist and have created my own characters under the title of 'Warnell's 'Hood'. I love playing sports, but not watching 'em. Which is a problem since I have a medical condition that could kill me if I get hurt in a game! I absolutely enjoy spending time with my children. Ya know, going on walks and taking adventures through the woods near our home, wrestling and chasing each other throughout the house, collecting bugs and setting them free "so they can go back to their families". I also love going to the theater during the day. No crowds and sometimes I'm the only one in the entire place! :D | | Music | Scarface is my favorite rapper of all time! He's the only artist where I don't HAVE to hit the "skip" button whenever listening to his CDs! Just behind him come C-Bo, Messy Marv, UGK (RIP Pimp C) and Eightball & MJG. Akon is quickly becoming one of my favorite R&B artists. Just under Anthony Hamilton. I also love the music from the 70's. I believe that's where you can find the best love songs ever made!
    | | Movies | I LOVE ME SOME MOVIES! Action movies are the cream of the crop! "Sin City" is tops, with "Shoot 'Em Up" a close second! Of course "Jaws" will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart as the movie that got me hooked on sharks. Check out what I have on DVD and Blu-ray over here: http://monkey-boy.dvdaf.com/
       | | Television | I've actually gotten to the point where I don't watch that much t.v. I'll occasionally channel surf and stop at a "World's Most Blankiest Blank"-type show, but I'm not real big on t.v. shows. I used to catch every episode of 'The Simpsons', but they've been more miss than hit lately. The 'CSI' shows had me for awhile, but they became dull after a few seasons. I do enjoy 'Reno:911' whenever I happen to catch an episode. Since I despise commercials, I mostly just buy the seasons of shows I like on DVD. A few of my favorite shows on DVD are: 'Arrested Development', 'Sledge Hammer', 'Reno:911', 'The Simpsons', 'Futurama', and 'Scrubs'
     | | Books | Not real big on reading long books anymore because my life has gotten too busy to read a very big story and my memory is too bad to remember what happened in the chapter I read the day/week before. When I was younger, I'd read 'The Hobbit', 'The Lord of the Rings', 'Jaws', 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', but I just can't do it anymore. Stupid brain! However, I CAN absorb comics pretty well! I haven't bought any NEW ones since about 2001, but I do go back a read my old back issues from time to time. A few of my favorites: Any of Frank Miller's 'Sin City' tales, 'Rising Stars', 'The Savage Dragon', 'The Darkness', 'Scud: The Disposable Assassin', 'Wolverine'
         | | Heroes | It'll sound a little sappy, but MY hero is my mother. She left my father for beating us when I was 9 and has stood STRONG on her own 2 legs ever since. She sacrificed so much for us and made sure we were taken care of before she was. She is who I compare every woman in my life to. Nobody can seem to be on the same level of devotion to her family as she is, but my wife comes darn close! |

About me:
I was involved in a car "accident" with a drunk driver when I was 10 months old, which basically ruined any plans I had for the future. I've been going in for operations nearly every year (and more than once a year, sometimes 3 or 4!) of my life since I was 11 years old. This kept me from graduating high school which ended my dreams of becoming a marine biologist studying the great whites of South Africa and Australia.
My skull is too small for my brain, so I live in constant pain and I occasionally have strange pains on the left side of my body that have no real explanation. Because of my condition, I basically grew up in a hospital bed. So all of my favorite activities (drawing, watching movies and reading comics) are things that can be done from a bed.
When I turned 18, I got a trust fund that was meant for college, but since I didn't graduate, I bought a rag-top convertible truck and a monkey. I still have the truck (even if it's broke down at the moment), but I lost KinKaid a few months after he turned 6 years old to animal control. I really HATE "Outbreak". It just made EVERYBODY afraid monkeys are chock full of diseases. I'd had him since he was 3 days old and he was born right here in Missouri.
At the moment, I'm happily married with 2 adorable kids. I never thought I'd find a wife. I mean, who would want a guy who spent most of the time in the hospital? (Not a very attractive quality.) But she loves me very much and I love her more everyday.

Oh yeah, I'm half black/half white and my hairstyle of choice is dreadlocks. I've developed a fear of short hair and scissors since I've had my head shaved most of my life. Whenever I see myself with short hair, I see myself as being "sick". Long hair means I'm "well". Before the couple of operations I had last year, I had 'em down to my shoulders! I've been doing 'em myself since I was 18 and I've had 'em since I was 15. Before that, I had a tall box hairstyle, similar to Kid's from Kid 'N' Play. When I saw "Class Act", I went to dreads. I figured if Kid could do it, why not I? My box was getting ridiculously high. When I got to school, a girl leaned over and complimented me and the dreads were here to stay! :D

Who I'd like to meet:
I'm not real big on meeting folks, but if you think we have some things in common... I guess it would be AWESOME to meet Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. The 2 toughest bastards Hollywood ever came up with! So if one of you are reading this...
