Some unknown, yet wise dude once said that to make your dream come true, you have to wake up and realize that it is a dream. Our rock band was born as a combination of this philosophy, the love of music, and the desire to write and perform our own stuff. We strive to go everywhere and do anything that sounds good as long as it feels real. It's a rule we've liberally followed since we first met over four years ago on Merrick's porch one night when it was barely spring. Our songs are about our human experience. We write songs that speak out...sometimes pretentious, sometimes apologetic...like a kid that knows what he's about to say or do might just get him in a bit of trouble. We write songs about the f@..$ed up way we think about the f@..$ed up things that have happened to us. We write songs about who and what makes us happiest and who and what we love. We try to sound like us, which works well as long as we listen too. We play an original set that stylistically varies as much as the weather of our midwestern seasons without losing that cohesion that defines our voice. We embrace our fans as friends (because most of them are our friends) and constantly work to make each live show the best and most fun yet. We have a six song demo, titled "Demo Derby" floating around and will release our first full-length CD probably in the spring of 2008...
SOLARFIST from Toledo Ohio, is opening for SEVENDUST on June 28th @ Harpos in Detroit. If anyone from the Toledo area would like tickets, even just to see SEVENDUST, get them from us and skip the service charge of ticketmaster. Tickets are $20, if you buy a few tickets maybe we can work some prices out. we need to sell 50 tickets so we'll make it work.
