Sharing their name with a persistent evergreen tree, Oxford and Abingdon quartet Monkey Puzzle mix angular indie guitars with throbbing basslines and crashing drums. Loud but quiet, and shy yet self-assured, the Puzzle aim to bring to you their blend of indie-rock through striking live performances and downloads.
Formed towards the end of 2006, Monkey Puzzle have been rehearsing a tight collection of songs over the past twelve months or so. The Puzzle have hit the ground runnning at the start of 2008 and already had studio time to record and mix 'Astro Girl' and 'Ashes', and now look set to take their set to the stage!

It's a place for bands to explain how they book shows. Comes along with news on web technologies, recording gizmos as well as music industry trends and anecdotes.
Come and join us... either for one or both!! TWO great shows - 2.00pm in The Unicorn Theatre Fantastic tiny historical theatre with lorry-loads of atmosphere! Great opportunity to see top bands in a unique setting. 7.00pm in The Stocks Bar, Abingdon The whole Ratpack gang go bigger, bolder and louder!! Brilliant day of music..
Yeah like Astro Girl - not as keen about the other track though if I'm being honest, but still into my heavier rock and a bit of indie. I wish I had the talent or balls to get up on stage myself - but I can't play well enough!
The only stuff I'm involved in is my mates Elvis covers band, but I'm only roadieing really - I'm Charlie Hodge. We're doing a wedding a week Sat - we all dress up in flowery shirts and I just bring on and off his guitar and drink, reload his scarves that he hands out and sorts out the mic cable when he goes into the crowd etc. Its a good laugh, plus there are loads of fit birds at weddings - a la 'the wedding crashers'!!! G.
Hi, was great to see you on Saturday. Good work with the demos - you must get some gigs in London. The Fly on New Oxford Street seems to be quite keen on getting new bands in and also the Macbeth in Hoxton, which is a great place to play. Give me a shout as soon as you're heading down south
