A dynamic, versatile, experienced 70's type psychedelic soul singer! Starting his career in music in the early 90's, he has been in professional projects on both the east and the west coast. The Monk's previous and most heavy hitting project, Ballistic Resistance, a funkcore project originating in Seattle (95-01), was what many had labeled "Rage Against the Machine on steroids!" His previous persona, The Monk of Funk, teamed up with his guitarist counterpart, the Deacon of Freakin', along with 5 completely different line-ups in Seattle, Tampa Bay and Knoxville, TN. They delivered their militant brand of funkcore relentlessly for six years until the disbanding of BR in 2001. After a long hiatus, the Monk is back in the saddle again with his psychedelic soul, funk, fusion project, MonkOzypha and the Conspiracy of Man. The Monk is seeking talented experienced professionals for the following band positions:
*Soulful, psychedelic guitar
*Funky, groove-oriented bass
*Jazzy, fusional drums
*Psychedelic, soulful keys (B3, clavinet)
*Latin percussion
The Monk's lyrics with their heavy spiritual, political and anti-conspiratorial references ring true of the socially conscious and protest songs of the 60's and the 70's! The Monk believes, "Make them mad, sad or glad... but never leave them indifferent!"
Besides being a singer/songwriter, the Monk is also a theologian, eschatologist, conspiracist, martial artist, natural nutritionalist, writer and Man of God of 23 years seniority, his first mission field being India in 1986! Musicians applying for the previous positions need to have a basic faith in Jesus Christ. The Monk would never expect anyone to play anything they didn't believe in!

I love them all. They sound like great intros to some rocking tunes. On Knowhere to Hide I hear the root note droping down a fifth and a heavy flanged and distorted guitar kicking in. Then going back up to the original note and jammin' out for a while.
YESSSS! Finally, Nowhere to Hide! My favorite song of yours! It is so much my favorite that it is now also playing on MY page! :) But I can't wait till you get that real funky new stuff you been workin' on out... that is what's up! Hey... let's go have some fun fishin' tonight, want to?
Outstading! I love the African-flavored beat and the trance quality. If you get a chance, check out these guys from my homeland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t_y7KinB9E
Happy Birthday!!! I love you! Please try to refrain from doing donuts in the park tonight, okay? Somebody might catch on! lol! Even though the wagon does handle mighty well, if I do say so myself... :)
