Northern-based melodic noise trio MonMon perfectly balance intelligent and considered lyrics to powerful rhythms and intricate finger-picked guitar. After two years of intense gigging they have tightly knitted a sound which is derived from their ability to craft nasty riffs over bass heavy backbeats in a way which is overall subtle but thoroughly soaked in raw power. Their EP – Monkey Fist exemplifies this sound where we are taken by the hand to explore an observed world inhabited by dreamers, addicts, winners and losers.
MonMon will delight your ears and tickle the back of your neck.

TOM ROBINSON, BBC 6MUSIC:
"Such a killer track. There's something about that voice that is just on-the-money".
CLINT BOON, XFM RADIO:
"Total quality - check these out live"
JUMBO RECORDS EP REVIEW:
"Great mix of punkish indie that'll have you shaking. Coming out of nowhere these guys are well worth checking out live too."
MORE:
Chris Harrison EP Review:
"Repetition with variation is the work of a band who have got their sound very much together. Understated vocal anger mingles with glorious and melodic guitar riffs held together with tight, tight rhythm.. .. Strong, deliberate, beautiful at times and forceful at others, the whole recording demands attention."
SANDMAN LIVE REVIEW:
"...the baggy influence is still in evidence, but joining it is a rawer glory. Jack Dawkins (sic) has grown a growl worthy of Mark Manning, and songs like ‘Roofie’ and ‘Ligament’ really shine. Bass, drums and guitar remain precise, versatile and smart throughout a set that possesses beauty and power..."

Currently looking for an office job to supplement the ol' student loan so soon I will be looking to push paper for a government I did not elect. I just wanted to drink and read my book (paraphrasing, I know) but it seems you can't get paid to do that that these days.
Anyway, gave the photos from t'other night to Matt-man - didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked but you can't win them all. Hope you guys are all well. A x
