Woran denkst Du, wenn Du das Wort MONO hörst? Stereo? Das wäre doch viel zu einfach!
Nein, der Name der Hamburger Band um Frontmann Martin Engler ist eine Ableitung von MONOMANIE. Dieser Begriff stammt aus der Krankheitslehre des frühen 19ten Jahrhunderts und bedeutet soviel wie Teilwahnsinn. Wer allerdings vom musikalischen Feuerwerk (welches die Band am liebsten live abbrennt) entzündet wurde, wird sich dagegen eher fragen: „warum nur Teilwahnsinn?“. Immerhin legten MONO INC. im Laufe des letzten Jahres einen derart planierraupenartigen Siegeszug durch die Szene hin, den man getrost als kompletten Wahnsinn bezeichnen kann!
Spätestens seit dem Szene-Hit Get Some Sleep vom letzten Longplayer Pain, Love & Poetry kennt auch die letzte schwarze Seele die Musik der drei Herren mit der Lady an den Drums. Folgerichtig waren MONO INC. im Sommer 2009 auf allen erlebniswerten Festivals nicht zu überhören: so waren die Vier beim legendären WGT, dem Amphi-Festival, Castle Rock, Hexentanz und beim Veldensteiner Festival zu sehen. Auch auf ihrer gemeinsamen Tournee mit Subway To Sally im April/Mai dieses Jahres infizierte die Band in den ausverkauften Hallen viele weitere Herzen, sodass bei der kommenden Tour mit ASP, bei der MONO INC. ihr neues Album live präsentieren, wohl mit Platzmangel zu rechnen ist. Martin: „Ich freue mich sehr auf die Tour mit ASP im Oktober, sowie auf unsere eigene Voices Of Doom-Tour im kommenden Winter. Wir sind einfach eine Live-Band und verbringen unser Leben am liebsten auf der Bühne!“
Die neue Single Voices Of Doom, zu der MONO INC. das bisher aufwendigste Musikvideo der Bandhistorie präsentierten, erschien am 04.09.2009. Das heiß ersehnte, gleichnamige Album steht dann endlich ab dem 25.09.09 in den Plattenläden. Martin über die neue CD: „Ich halte Voices Of Doom für das bislang beste MONO INC. Album, weil wir es hier geschafft haben, die Intensität der Konzerte auf CD zu pressen.“ Wer die Musik von MONO INC. kennt, weiß, dass es sich hier nicht um ein leeres Versprechen handelt. Auch die bekannten Szenemagazine wie Sonic Seducer, Zillo, Orkus und das Gothic Magazine können das Loben nicht sein lassen. So heißt es z.B. über das neue Album: „Ein Feuerwerk aus melodischem und düster-romantischem Gothic Rock und Metal… Ein Meisterwerk…!“
MONO INC. können sich also auf eine wahnsinnig erfolgreiche Zukunft freuen.

What goes through your mind, when you hear the word „Mono“? Stereo?
That would be far too simple. No, the name of the Hamburg based band round frontman Martin Engler derives from the word Monomania. This term is a medical term from the early 1900s and means partially insane.
Whoever is lit by the band’s musical fireworks (which the band preferably ignites live!) will ask “Why only partially insane?” After all in the past year Mono Inc. have in invaded the scene in a way you could call “complete insanity” .
After the Scene-Hit “Get some Sleep” from the last Longplayer “Pain, Love & Poetry” ervery last dark soul knows the music of the three gentlemen and the lady at the drums. In the summer of 2009 Mono Inc. could not be overheard at all important festivals: the four could be seen at the legendary WGT, the Amphi-Festival, Castle Rock, Hexentanz and at the Veldensteiner Festival. On their Tour with Subway to Sally in April/May this year, the band infected many more hearts in the sold out venues. This could mean a tight squeeze in the audience of the coming tour with ASP, where Mono Inc. are presenting their latest album. Martin: I am really looking forward to the tour with ASP in October and our own “Voices of Doom tour” in winter. We are mainly a live band and prefably spend our life on stage.”
The new single “Voices Of Doom” to which Mono Inc. present the most complex music video in the history of the band, was released on 4th September 2009. The long awaited Album of the same name is available in record stores since 25th September 2009. Martin says about the new CD: “ For me “Voices Of Doom” is the best Mono Inc. Album so far, because we have managed to press the intensity of the live gigs onto a CD” Whoever knows the music of Mono Inc. knows that this is no exageration. Even the well known Magazines like Sonic Seducer, Zillo, Orkus and the Gothic Magazine cannot stop their praise. For Example one magazine wrote about the new album: “ a firework display of melodic and dark, romantic gothic-Rock and Metal… A Masterpiece… !”
Therefore Mono Inc. can look forward to a successfully insane future.
