About Monolith Productions

Drummers:

01. Try to replace your heads before recording if possible. This will make sure the drums sound as good as possible.

02. Please bring extra sticks and a muting ring for the snare and moongel for toms if you have it.

03. Make sure that your pedals do not squeak!

04. Try to move your cymbals as high as you can while being practical for your playing style.

05. Cluttered kits do not record well.

06. Make sure that your bass drum has a port in it. If not then remove the front head prior to recording.

07. If you play a heavier style of music try to get used to hitting the drums hard and the cymbals relatively soft.

08. PLEASE PRACTICE TO A METRONOME!!!!

Bassists:

01. Replace the strings at least a day prior to recording and let them sit.

02. Please bring spare strings, picks, and batteries (for active pickups).

Guitarists:

01. Make sure the intonation and sound of the instrument is okay prior to recording.

02. Please make sure to replace the strings the night before recording. This is very important in achieving a great guitar sound.

03. Bring spare strings, picks, and batteries (for active pickups).

04. If you have locking tuners bring an allen wrench of appropriate size.

05. Please talk to me about what kind of amp you use and we will decide if you should bring it or not.

06. Please practice to a metronome!!!!!!

Vocalists:

01. Do not have a big night out prior to recording. Your voice needs to be in the best condition possible.

02. Bring a bottle of spring water when we do vocals. This is the best vocal aid you can have.

03. You may be asked to repeat phrases a multitude of times so make sure your voice is up to the task.

04. If your voice starts going out just let me know and we can record vocals at a later date.

One more thing. Do NOT bring extra people! Only bring the people who are recording.
