Monoson is the new project of singer/songwriter Brian Million from Norfolk, VA. After hiding out in his bedroom studio for years amassing unfinished works, he finally focused on putting out just a sampling of what’s to come. This preview is the Therapy Sessions EP. The music is a blend of organic and synthetic sounds, resulting in songs that unfold like folktronic fantasies, driving desperately towards resolution. Guitars, banjos, strings, accordions, mandolins, mallets, an array of percussion, and more help lay down the canvas on which to paint his commentary on life. The lyrics are a contemplative reflection on how things have been versus the way they should be, revealing a dreamer’s hopefulness along with a disrespect for conformity. Abandoning the pursuit and rules of pop music culture, he strives to create art out of sharing the desire for more out of life, and invites the listener to be equally vulnerable. It’s all part of the process and for Monoson it’s only begun.
Your song "Wrote It Out On Paper" was played on my podcast, on the 59th show of Cowboy Cantor. I am happy to have you. All the best from the Azores islands.
Hey man, yeah I'm still playing. I'll get you some info about a couple of places. Maybe we can do something together again sometime.
By the way, I love what you have up on myspace. Seriously. Keep it up. And I love that you know about noisetrade. I haven't signed up yet but as soon as I get the next ep put together I'm going to.
