MONSIEUR MINIMAL BIO Monsieur Minimal was born and raised in Greece. He studied music technology and production at the music school of Thessaloniki under the guidance of Demetrius Adam. He has been writing and producing music as Monsieur Minimal for the last 5 years. He was one of the most talented and successful competitors of the Coca-Cola Sound Wave festival in 2007, with his songs ''Silk'' and ''Love Is A Circle''. His first official release was in the City Campers compilation (The Sound Of Everything) in 2008. He was the artist that received the biggest attention from this project. His debut album, titled ''Lollipop'', was released in 2008 by The Sound Of Everything (www.thesoundofeverything.com) and received impressive reviews from press and radio, while it soon became a best seller of the local indie scene. His music can be defined as mainly indie pop but with a lot of electronic influences and elements. But the key to his success are the simple, beautiful melodies and sweet pop vocals, which made this album a hit across a wide range of radio and tv stations in Greece. Following the success of his album, Status magazine, one of the most popular male magazines in Greece, voted him as a candidate in category of the "Face of the year 2009". Most of the Greek radio and TV stations are using his music in their play lists and trailers of their shows and his music has appeared on numerous compilations. His song "Love Story" is a hit in Turkey and has remained for many weeks in the charts. One of the album songs titled "Smile" has been used for the TV commercial of Safeway in America and Canada which signified the international debut of Monsieur Minimal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjBdVVjOpGI MTV USA has also licensed his album for possible use in forthcoming shows. His performance as an opening act for Moby concert at Earth Theatre (Thessaloniki) on June 23rd 2011. His first live performance with a full band at the 17th International Film Festival Premier Nights Conn-x, on September 23rd 2011 in the courtyard of the New Acropolis Museum in Athens. Monsieur Minimal is currently touring all over Greece and Europe. He played live on April 2nd 2011 in Berlin @ Bohannon club and on May 5th 2011 in London @ Mythopolis Music Bar. His friend Spinnet, and for many years partner in his live appearances, remixed some of the most popular songs from Lollipop in drum & bass and dub style. Obviously aiming in widening his audience abroad, Monsieur Minimal comes back with a dance mood, defining an original drum & bass pop esthète, while working at the same time on his next album. His latest release was the brand new "Digital Love EP", including four new and previously unreleased tracks. "Digital Love EP" is out in all major digital stores since 3rd of May 2012 by The Sound Of Everything Records and it gives a small but intriguing sample of the musical puzzle of the third album, which will be released in the end of October 2012."Digital Love EP" remains faithful to the successful indie pop vibe and the uplifting melodies which made Monsieur Minimal one of the most popular songwriters of the indie scene in Greece.It also contains a surprise track called Bitter in collaboration with Hiras, which demonstrates the electronic side of Monsieur Minimal with impressive results. www.monsieurminimal.com O monsieur minimal είναι ο Χρήστος Τσιτρουδης , γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στα Γιαννιτσά. Τ α τελευταία 3 χρόνια ζει στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Γραφεί και συνθέτη ως monsieur minimal εδώ και 5 χρόνια . Διακρίθηκε μέσα από το διαγωνισμό του coca-cola sound wave με τα κομμάτια “silk” και “love is a circle” και συμμετείχε με σημαντική επιτυχία στη συλλογή της “The sound of everything” “city campers”.H μουσική του χαρακτηρίζεται από έντονα indie pop στοιχειά χωρίς να λείπουν όμως από αυτή οι electronica πινελιές . Το περιοδικό Status, ένα απ τα πιο αναγνωρισμένα αντρικά περιοδικά στην Ελλάδα, τον προτείνει στην κατηγορία του «πρωτοεμφανιζόμενου της χρονιάς». Το «smile», ένα απ τα τραγούδια του άλμπουμ «lollipop» χρησιμοποιείται στο διαφημιστικό της μεγαλύτερης διατροφικής αλυσίδας Safeway σε Αμερική και Καναδά κι απ τη Citroen Hellas προς εξυπηρέτηση ενός διαφημιστικού κλιπ. Το αμερικανικό κανάλι MTV πρόκειται να χρησιμοποιήσει όλα τα κομμάτια του σε μια νέα τηλεοπτική εκπομπή. Η μουσική του ακούγεται από τους περισσότερους τηλεοπτικούς και ραδιοφωνικούς σταθμούς κατά τη διάρκεια εκπομπών, trailer και airplays. Το κομμάτι «love story» ήταν γι αρκετές εβδομάδες στα top charts της Τουρκίας και κυκλοφόρησε σε μια από τις πιο γνωστές συλλογές της χώρας. Το γαλλογερμανικό κανάλι «Arte TV» τον κάλεσε για την παρουσίαση του άλμπουμ του. Με άπλες όμορφες μελωδίες ,γλυκά pop φωνητικά και με άριστες κριτικές , τόσο από το εσωτερικό όσο κι απ το εξωτερικό κι έχοντας στις βαλίτσες του το πρώτο του προσωπικό album που ακούει στο όνομα ”lollipop” o monsieur minimal τριγυρίζει ανά την Ελλάδα με σκοπό να αναδείξει την μουσική του και να κάνει τους ανθρώπους που τον ακούν να χαμογελούν ,να ταξιδεύουν και να ερωτεύονται μέσα από αυτή. Στη σκηνή εμφανίζεται με ένα laptop, μια κιθάρα(ηλεκτρική και ακουστική),ένα μεγαλόφωνο, και μια φωνή.
