Monsoon Season plays a soulful brand of rock which frequently blends elements of a number of classic styles from the American songbook: jazz, blues, r and b and folk.
The band's debut EP, "The Last Commute" contained six jazz-pop numbers which showcased the band's emphasis on soulful vocal melodies, snappy guitar hooks and thumping grooves. In 2007 the band has sought to expand its musical palate by incorporating other styles of music, namely americana, blues, gospel, and traditional jazz.
For a sampling of the band's new direction, check out the video "In Session With Monsoon Season" (below) and stay tuned here for updates on their upcoming full-length release!

hey guys, I'm in Japan right now. I'm afraid I won't be able to make it until November - sorry. I'm not exactly sure when I'll be able to make it back to the states. I hope everything is going great for you guys!
Thanks Sam, I'll pace myself on the crazy stuff! BB and Paula have both got the gombu, so I'm hoping to avoid it at all costs. My voice took it hard after the outdoor stuff last week, but now it seems to be holding pretty well.
I've got three more gigs this week so I've been sleeping like a little baby to balance out the craziness! Have a good trip, and I'll see you soon.

watched the video. I think it's pretty fantastic. It needs something though. Something that will really get people's attention. It needs to be you guys performing at a skating rink. You need to be playing and roller skating at the same time and Nate should be on a platform on casters with some hot chicks pushing it around the rink with the rest of the band, and Nate needs to use four drumsticks that he is constantly juggling while playing the song to perfection. Then the kids would say things like, "that's amazing" and "look! hot chicks." Then you'd probably become famous....at least on youtube...and possibly G4.
