Love and Laughter. We want to love and laugh and share as much as we can for as long as we can.

Non-Recyclable Plastic Trash: Poor Man's Gold?
Heroes
Jane Goodall, Emma Goldman, Margaret Mead, Bucky Fuller, this is way too short .
Anyone who does something to help the invisible amongst us who suffer, who lifts their baby finger to alter the course of harm from being done to another, the President of Tanzania who banned plastic bags, President Chavez of Venezuela who looks us in the eye and tells us, he is not amused at Americas antics and greed, to all of you who live on your feet instead of your knees-these and you are my heroes.
Who I'd like to meet: Individuals who want to make a difference and aren't afraid to jump in and help out. We all know the earth is at it's limits. That these plastic bags are churned out with no thought whatsoever as to what will happen to them post use is a crime.
Monsoon Vermont works to bring bags made out of this insidious garbage to you.
Your purchase helps fund the YE Water Project in Jakarta. They create household water reclamation systems for the poorest of the poor.
So, if you are sitting around twiddling your fingers, saying, "oh dear, oh dear, what shall we do? The earth is in crisis." Take a minute and order a bag so you can remind others as you walk around with your stunningly beautiful bag-we need to stop manufacturing madness.
Bangladesh, Taiwan, Singapore, South Africa and a number of East African countries have made plastic bag use illegal. Poor countries suffer the most from plastic packaging. The packets end up clogging water ways and are often burned at landfills, creating a toxic smoke that the urban poor breathe in. Serious respiratory illness results.
None of this has to happen.
Information is knowledge-wear one of our products, not just because it is mezmerizingly gorgeous, but because that one action has a profound effect. When you touch and hold a Monsoon Vermont bag or trash bin, you might find that you feel other peoples stories. It is, we believe the strong link that Monsoon Vermont is creating-the link between the 'Us' and the ' Them'. Please join our circle so we may be stronger and more effective.
Just dropping by to say that in celebration of the rare Ancient Future Guitar-Sitar Jugalbandi show March 31, 2007, at Northern California's Larkspur Cafe Theatre, we have finally added our fourth myspace song: a live version of the song Socha Socha from the Planet Passion CD that was recorded for the Echoes Radio Living Room Concert Series. For a limited time only, we are offering it as a free download. It's not available on iTunes or any other download site, and it will be removed on April 1, so download it while you can. Hope you enjoy this gift to our myspace friends!
Thanks for connecting and your support of world music! And thanks for doing what you are doing. The world needs more people like you.

"To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and the vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never, to forget." - Arundhati Roy
