Books
Mike and Mark write books, both individually and as a team.
Mike has written GIANTS OF THE GENRE, MORE GIANTS OF THE GENRE and DARK DUETS (which features a legion of collaborators, since it is a book of Mike's collaborative stories) -- and of course, the forthcoming MONSTER BEHIND THE WHEEL with Mark McLaughlin.
Mike's interviews with horror, fantasy and sci-fi personalities have appeared in a variety of major magazines and websites.
Mark's most recent book releases include MOTIVATIONAL SHRIEKER, SLIME AFTER SLIME (the limited-edition hardcover), AT THE FOOTHILLS OF FRENZY (with Shane Ryan Staley and Brian Knight) and the forthcoming MONSTER BEHIND THE WHEEL with Mike McCarty. SLIME AFTER SLIME has been released as a paperback -- there's info in the big blurb section about that.
Mark has also written a big book of poetry which won a Bram Stoker Award, THE GOSSAMER EYE (with Rain Graves and David Niall Wilson -- each of the three poets has one-third of the book), and a lot of slender volumes of poetry, including YOUR HANDY OFFICE GUIDE TO CORPORATE MONSTERS ... MEN ARE FROM HELL, WOMEN ARE FROM THE GALAXY OF DEATH ... PROFESSOR LaGUNGO'S EXOTIC ARTIFACTS & ASSORTED MYSTIC COLLECTIBLES ... and THE SPIDERWEB TREE.
Monster Behind The Wheel Has Horror Appeal's Blurbs
About me: Hello! We're Michael McCarty and Mark McLaughlin, authors of the rollicking horror/adventure novel, MONSTER BEHIND THE WHEEL.
MONSTER BEHIND THE WHEEL will be published August 2008 by Corrosion Press, an imprint of Delirium Books, P.O. Box 338, North Webster, IN 46555, www.DeliriumBooks.com. The novel will be released in both hardcover and trade paperback editions, and pre-orders are available now.
Here's a little bit of the plot: As a child, young Texan Jeremy Carmichael fell from a Ferris wheel at a carnival. He landed on a beautiful young woman and his fall was broken. Unfortunately, so was the woman's spine.
Years later, Jeremy is injured in a car accident while delivering pizzas. The accident opens the gates between the worlds of the living and the dead, awakening a malevolent supernatural presence -- the spirit of a cruel man named Frank Edmonson. Frank had been the policeman who'd arrived at the scene of the carnival accident, years earlier. The woman who'd died had been Frank's lover.
Frank wants revenge on Jeremy and wishes to re-enter the world of the living by taking over the young man's body. Jeremy finds himself constantly visiting the realm of the dead in dreams and visions. But is that Frank's doing, or is there another reason...? In his dreams, Jeremy is repeatedly drawn to the River of Time, which flows through the land of the dead.
Frank Edmonson has a cunning masterplan which involves a sleek, deadly muscle-car called Monster. Frank uses the car to gain more and more of a foothold over Jeremy's life. But what Frank doesn't know is that Jeremy isn't your average pizza delivery boy....
What happens next? You'll have to read the book to find out more!

Between the two of us (Mike has done most of the interviewing ... Mark has done some, too), we've interviewed -- for magazines, newspapers, and websites -- such luminaries as John Carpenter, Dean Koontz, Adrienne Barbeau, Neil Gaiman, Peter Straub, and many more.

Thanks for the add, guys! I'd like to invite you to take my horror novel, BITTERNEST, for a spin in the media section at www.alandraven.com where the first chapter is available to read at your convenience.
It's the story of a detective who forms an uneasy alliance with a group of vampires to prevent a powerful entity from enslaving the fog-shrouded city of Bitternest.
I want to extend a belated thank you to you for the great message and comment. It's really encouraging toi hear that you find the movie so interesting. Haha, we need all the support we can get so please knwo everything is great appreciated from the entire "For Christ's Sake" team!! And a cameo by Mark McLaughlin you say?!?! Well, anything's possible for the next one!! Take care and stay in touch.
"For Christ's Sake" is currently in production in Sarasota, Florida and everyone involved is extremely excited. We have horror movie icon Debbie Rochon in our female lead, rising star Jesse Kozel as “The Clone Of Jesus Christ" and we have cameos by Peter Stickles, Joel D. Wynkoop and filmmaker Jason Liqouri!! This movie promises to be completely unlike all the other low budget scare fare that's choking the market as our film will contain a main cast of characters that are both straight and gay with no stereotypes. Also, the subject matter is extremely controversial. Plus to top it all off, we have a lead villain that, I promise you, is unlike anything you've ever seen before in the horror genre.
Keep an eye out for future "For Christ's Sake" news and don't be a stranger!!
