MONSTERBUCK is singer/songwriter Chris Kowanko and brothers Byron Renderer on bass and Scott Renderer on drums. Originally known as a solo artist, Kowanko released several the albums "Kowanko" and "Spell", collaborating with legendary producers Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith) and Steve Fisk (Nirvana, Soul Coughing, Low). Monsterbuck drummer Scott Renderer is also known as an actor, having been a member of the Wooster Group and working with filmmaker Todd Haynes. Rounding out the trio is Byron Renderer on bass, longtime avant pop songwriter and member of the bands Suitcase and Bud Fender.

Monsterbuck's debut album, "Land of Makebelievers" is inspired by an abandoned amusement park in Upper Jay called The Land of Makebelieve. The park was created in the sixties by a disillusioned hollywood set designer named Arto Monaco. Arto gave up on the park after numerous floods, and passed away, but his effort still serves as a source of inspiration in a weird fractured fairy tale sort of way for those who are lucky enough to stumble upon it.

The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill. What more can I say, a great night for music and film, with the odd star thrown in. Come show your support.

I just wnated to check in on you fellas and let you know that I put "Monsterbuck" as a write-in for President/Vice President.

Since there are three of you, you'll have to work out the finer details of who gets what position when you win the Oval Office.

The third individual can be like Secretary of Defense or something.

Guys, guys, guys!

I want to publicly apologize to you for not responding sooner than now.

I received a copy of your latest work, "The Jockey Down Project" quite sometime ago via Chris.

I didn't open the package right away and, sadly, it became lost in a pile of clean laundry that I never bothered to hang up or fold.

Today, as I've been cleaning up my slovenliness and doing some housework, I came across said package sent by Chris.

I've been listening to the CD repeatedly and enjoy it a great deal. I'll be dedicating one of my legendary blogs to you and your band regarding this latest work.

I want to thank you for the consideration in sending me your music and I appreciate you for appreciating me as a fan.

And, again, my sincerest and deepest apologies for not getting back to you sooner or thanking you when this disc arrived.

It arrived. I'm grateful and enjoy it. And I still wish you guys continued success.

I'll keep trying to be your pseudo West Coast representative and spread the name of the 'Buck to the masses.

Your friend and fan,
Mike The Turd Herding Janitor Guy Person

Greetings and salutations, Monsterbuck!

I just wanted to check up on you guys and let you know I was thinking about you.

I also wanted to listen to "How Will You Ever Get Home" which, incidentally, is one of my all time favorites by you fellas.

I hope you're all well and standing the test of time. And tell Chris that I'm in Heber City every week for work. I think he has family there.

All the best from the mothership,
Mike The Turd Herder Janitor
