Monster Eiffel Tower's music is everything their name suggests - powerful, dense, and intricate - full of waves of distortion, vocal harmonies, and guitar and bass heroics. "...Ultimately it was Monster Eiffel Tower who dominated the night for me. Sure, it probably has a lot to do with how prog-y my listening habits have been lately, but this band caught the attention of everyone else at the show too. And I'm certain that most of those other people weren't nerding out on them solely because of their chops, copious effects pedals, or resemblance to a certain Canadian band whose name rhymes with "hush." Not that they're overly Rush-esque or anything, but the comparison crossed my mind a few times watching their set. I mean, tell me that there's not a heavy dose or two of "La Villa Strangiato" in their song "Monolith." Definitely a band to watch out for if you live in NYC."
