Monsters Are Waiting first began playing together in Los Angeles in 2005. They began by playing parties and clubs around LA which led to several shows with She Wants Revenge and a west coast tour with stellastarr* and Mercury Prize nominee Editors. †Music Week (UK) hailed their performance at this years’ SXSW as one of the top bands of the festival. In Summer 2006, Monsters Are Waiting were all over LA, selling out Spaceland as the resident band four separate times, as well as selling out The Troubadour twice. †Monsters Are Waiting then embarked on their first national headlining tour. †In November 2006, they will stop in New York to participate in the CMJ Music Marathon, before beginning a national tour supporting She Wants Revenge.
After debuting “Nobody” in the spring of 2005 on “Check One…Two”, their local music show, LA’s Indie 103.1 added the song into full time rotation. †Monsters Are Waiting have also received initial radio airplay on LA’s KROQ and KCRW and San Francisco’s Live 105.
The real catalyst for Monsters Are Waiting has been support on the blogs and music websites. †A steady stream of online activity on their live shows and four music videos has led to them becoming one of the fastest rising new bands in Los Angeles.
In addition to being featured on the cover of LA Alternative Press and in the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly, LA.com, OC Weekly and LA Opinion, Monsters are Waiting have received props in Flaunt, Nylon, Pitchfork, SOMA, Venice, 944, Lucky, Zink, Public, Lemonade, Amplifier, Spin.com and more. †CNN did a segment on the band and their music video for ‘Nobody” reached the finals in “Scion’s xPress Festival”. †Their music has also been featured on WB’s One Tree Hill, MTV’s “Next” and the Suicide Girls’ DVD “The First Tour”.
In October 2005, Monsters Are Waiting released a self-titled EP through their website and Amoeba Records, where it debuted at 1. ††Within three months, the EP sold out. †On July 18, 2006, Monsters are Waiting released its debut album ‘Fascination’ on Retone Records with national distribution through Fontana.
Any chance that there'll be a show sometime this weekend? Say 29 May - 3 Jun? I miss being able to see you guys live! If you're having shows, I don't know where or when. I know it's not on any tour that goes through Arizona. :(
I love Monsters Are Waiting! Annalee, I love your lyrics. I've been wondering, what is It's Endless about? I love how your songs express your feeling. the music too! it's perfect. the guitar, drums and bass. piano too. I especially love the guitar. I really like the ska strumming in Christine :)
The IUCN now lists global warming as the most significant threat to the polar bear, primarily because the melting of its sea ice habitat reduces its ability to find sufficient food. The IUCN states, If climatic trends continue polar bears may become extirpated from most of their range within 100 years. On May 14, 2008, the United States Department of the Interior listed the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.
Hey monsters are waiting..., you are the power and presence of Love creating all of this. It's not real. It's completely made up. You are amazing for convincing yourself that any of this was real! Nice work. It's a very convincing illusion. I feel totally real.
