About me:

Montag is a DC-based media activist 'zine founded in the fall of 2005. Its mission: (1) rescuing the information and cultural commons from private plunder, (2) exploring the dynamics of information communication technologies on content creation, distribution, promotion, and discourse, and (3) providing some sense of navigation in an increasingly decentralized and highly competetive cultural repetoire. As of the last issue--the Music (Mostly) Issue Part I--it seems that Montag is primarily taking the shape of a music 'zine. But it would be no fun to limit ourselves to one topic. Past issues included band profiles, a short story about surf goons, a shitload of movie reviews, and comics. If you want a copy, send an address or email it to montagreader@yahoo.com. Also contact us if you want to contribute writings or comics.
