Mooberry's Interests
|
| General | I enjoy spending time with friends, family (when I get a chance) and by myself. I spend too much time on my computer. I love music, and I enjoy going to concerts. I like movies, but not many movies that have looked interesting to me have come out lately.
Other things I like to do...museums, volleyball (but I don't play much anymore), playing tourist, travel, spending a lazy day by myself, being outdoors (but that's only happening when the weather is nice, I'm not a snow bunny), reading, writing, and getting out from time to time and exploring what is around me. | | Music | Probably something Sara hasn't heard of. =)
In no particular order: Ashley Cleveland, Margaret Becker, Kendall Payne (but Sara, you do have 1 of her cds!), Carolyn Arends, Sarah Kelly, Buddy and Julie Miller...really too many to list. Check out some of the musicians I have listed in my friends. Some I've discovered while exploring and enjoy their music. But if you are an acoustic rock chick, I'm probably going to like you. =)
Go and get the Best of Chris Isaak cd. And spring a few extra bucks and get the cd/dvd edition. The commentary on the dvd is pretty funny at times. | | Movies | Better Off Dead, Sixteen Candles, Ocean's Eleven, Dodgeball...
| | Television | The Office (US version), CSI (the original, the others don't really do much for me), ER (yes, I'm still one of the few who watch ER), Grey's Anatomy, Best Week Ever, MythBusters, and even though I don't have a decorating bone in my body, I always get hooked watching any type of home makeover or remodel show. | | Books | The Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich, the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith, mysteries, some chick-lit, just to name a few. | | Heroes | Ok...I don't have heroes, but here are some groups of people that I admire:
People who stand up for what they believe. I may not often agree with them, but it takes courage to stand up for yourself, even when it's not the popular thing to do.
People who take chances. Too many of us get caught up in living our day to day lives and it really takes a person of character to take a chance.
Those little old women who you hear about graduating college at age 70. I look up to those people. As someone who keeps putting off going back to school, I admire those people who go back to school later in life and get a degree.
People who make life changes. Kind of in the same vein as those who take chances, but if you realize your life is crappy and you actually say, hey, I'm not going to live my crappy life anymore and actually do something about it...if that includes leaving an abusive marriage, going to therapy, lots of prayer and guidance, then by all means do it! Life is too short to be sitting around being a punching bag or not getting over events in your life that happened when you were 8. |

Mooberry's Blurbs |
About me:
What can I say? I'm 36 and living in Washington, DC. I grew up in Minnesota, but escaped after high school. I have lived in Washington, DC pretty much since 1991 and love it. I did move out to California for a bit in 2002, but moved back here in 2003. One big thing I discovered living out there, I prefer living on the East Coast, so I moved back.
I come from a large family....and some of my friends on here are family members.
|
Who I'd like to meet:
I like learning about people's stories. What makes them the person they are today. I saw a documentary a couple years ago about someone I knew. Once I saw her family and who they were, it made perfect sense to me that she was the way she was.
