Mooey Moobau is not a band name or a stage name but more like a nickname. For Joe Tepperman. Yes, some people actually call me this. They are among the talented and generous ones who play over my sung word sounds.
I have a song stuck in my throat. Please, friends... help me get it out!
Speech Science is my trade and I have always loved the SOUNDS of words. For me speech and music aren't really such different things.
People like to use the word "fucker" when they write about me. I am not sure why this is.
"Will keep you teetering on the edge of audio sensory overload and leave you dumbfounded and smiling. This crazy fucker is brimming with the spirit of Captain Beefheart." -- Citizen L.A.
"Hats off to anyone who can waltz in from Florida and turn L.A. music upside down and slap a big shit-eating grin on these hipster kids." -- Loudvine
"silly, frustrating, complex, and refreshingly innovative" -- The Deli Magazine
"The music and sounds created on this album are so interesting and mind-numbing and fantastic (in the literal sense of fantasy and wonder) that it was difficult to concentrate on driving and I almost ended up in a car wreck." -- Good Stuff!
Dignity, adrenal glands, and a pleasant kind of confusion are all free for the taking when you're ready. But here are some things that will cost you a little bit of money:
Hi! Thanks for being our friend! It would mean a lot if you'd check out our songs and leave us a comment. If we're doing our job you might even get a smile out of it. Comment how you feel!
Also, if you're in the Salt Lake City area let me know, we are trying to build a really strong local fanbase and always looking for people to jam with! Get with us early and we'll hook you up when we're huge...which will probably be in a week or two.

Then make that imp-wards peripatetic journey to Pasadena this Saturday and watch us confuse a bunch of drunkards with strange sounds and words.
That's right! This Saturday Antique Imp we'll be playing at the Old Town Pub in Pasadena. We go on at 11:30 and will be playing deep into the darkest nether regions of the night, aka for as long as we feel like.
This show marks our 1-year anniversary as a band (20 shows in one year--weee!), so it's sure to be a special night for us. Come on by and take part in the love.
Tix are $8 at the door, though if you plan on attending, send us a message and we'll do our damndest to get you on the guest list. Empty slots are running thin quickly though, so best to RSVP as soon as possible.
The Old Town Pub is located at 66 N. Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena CA 91103, blocks away from where the 710 and the 134 meet.
Unfortunately we don't have a flier to give you at this time, so here's a picture of Dick Cheney as a baby. As you can tell, he was a huge fan of Antique Imp from even a young age.
Thanks to All those Who Made our First Shakedown a Success! Join us July 2, 2009 for the Grand Opening of our Weekly Thursday Night! The SHAKEDOWN in the 562...Something Fresh This Way Comes.....
