ELECTRONIC: Down Tempo, ELECTRONIC: Pop Crossover
Mooli is the brainchild of Electronica Producer- and main songwriter, Songwriter Ben Copland.
They are from the kent town of Maidstone, and formed in 2003.
Their first release was the ' One Design' Ep in 2005 on Mooli Music the label set up by Ben Copland specifically to release the groups output.
The Ep consisted of the tracks ' One Design' ' Save you' ' Awaken' and ' Underneath the same sun'.
Despite having no marketing budget for the release, the band managed to get the attention of MTV's producers who began showing their video for the song ' save you' directed by Stephen Fullagher, a long time friend of the band, and national radio play in both Ireland and the UK, after famously spurning the advances of a radio plugger who told them they would never get any radio play without his help.
The title track ' One design' caught the attention of former Dido manager Seven Webster who managed to license the track to several compilations, and earn the band a following amongst lovers of downtempo chilled electronica.
To date songs from this debut EP have been featured on more than twelve compilations worldwide, with the band featuring alongside established artists like Feist, William Orbit, Snow Patrol, Jose Gonzalez, Express 2, Nerina Pallot, Neneh Cherry, and Finley Quaye Underworld and Sarah Mclachlan.
Even Stevo, the legendary electronica label owner behind pioneering 80's bands such as Soft Cell, tried to sign ' Underneath the same sun' for his Some Bizarre Compilation.
The band's debut album ' Concubine' was produced by Ben Copland, and featured two of the tracks from the Ep, ' One Design' and ' Underneath the same sun' together with nine previously unheard tracks. The opener, ' Easy' would not be too out of place on a jose Gonzalez album, and indeed the band appear with Jose Gonzalez on the Angels Fall album, compiled by Ex Hed kandi Mark Doyle. Other highlights include ' San francisco rain, ' Not the one' featuring Beverley Knight keyboardist Ashley Kingsley on Rhodes Piano, the sublime ' Diggin for vinyl' the pure pop of ' Reasons' and the laid back soulfulness of ' Time' the closing track.
Mooli have also collaborated with dance producers My digital Enemy ( AKA the Sunset strippers ) on the dance track ' Wasted' by My Digital Enemy feat Mooli. The epic ‘Wasted’ received high acclaim from Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez, Eric Morillo, Chris Lake, Judge Jules, Sandra Collins to name a few and was signed to Universal's AATW label.
New single ' San Francisco rain' a reworking By LYs of one of the tracks on the Concubine album, comes out on September 21st on Chris Lake's Rising Music, with the track being worked by the team behind crossover hits by the likes of Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, and kellis.

RADIOPLAY: Mooli have been played BBC radio 2, BBc radio 1, MTV, Dan Hipgrove's Acoustika Show and Podcast on Brighton's JUICE FM, Rick O'shea's 'music for grown-up's' at RTE 2FM in Ireland, and Tom Robinson's Evening Sequence on BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC.
Mooli's ' One design' features on the following compilations- Future Chill, Breakfast Club- London, Chill out sessions vol 4, and Cafe de paris.

Hey!!!!!! Yeah, been a while I wrote you here!! I just had a listen to the new song. I quite like it. It's very soft and Lucy has a nice voice. (does she have a personal myspace?). Thumbs up for this one Ben...son! I must find the time to change the fanpage! I am not serious at all with that one!!!!!
