Cool tunes by the water is what it’s all about in 2009.

The Coca-Cola Moomba Rhythms Stage presents some of Australia’s top acts in a series of FREE concerts by the river. Bring your friends, kick back and soak it all up.

What bands do you want to see for free? ARIA award-winners? Local acts on the rise? Music that will move you?

Coca-Cola Moomba Rhythms gives you more of what you want this year with a huge line-up including Augie March, The Galvatrons, Magic Dirt, The Whitlams and James Reyne. The commercial, the alternative, the up and coming and the long-standing – Coca-Cola Moomba Rhythms has it all.

Find out more at about Moomba Waterfest at thatsmelbourne.com.au

About the bands:

ARIA-award winners Augie March, recipients of much critical acclaim, huge record sales and a loving audience with their sumptuous and eclectic sounds.

Magic Dirt has ignited the Australian rock music scene. At Coca-Cola Moomba Rhythms this legendary band will move you.

The Chipolatas, a band blending accordion with hip-hop, circus with street theatre and talent with fun.

The Currency’s rollicking six piece orchestra combines folk instruments (including the tin whistle and the mandolin) with a fire cracker punk rhythm section.

The Galvatrons recently returned from a successful London blitz to bring their electrifying and unique brand of synth rock to the Coca-Cola Moomba Rhythms stage.

Have a laugh and learn some useless facts at Hoodwinked, a game of bluff, deception and hilarity. Features comedians such as Akmal, Lehmo, Greg Fleet and more.

The Black Sorrows are one of Australia's most-loved bands. They’ve sold more than one million albums and released classic singles such as Chained to the Wheel, Harley and Rose and Hold On To Me.

Watch out for The Dirty Brothers’ light-hearted take on the world of sideshow. With a bed of nails, a car battery, a dingo trap and a can of baked beans in the mix anything could happen.

Fitzroy Xpress are living legends in the Australian country rock music scene. Their songs are about life in a small outback town and about being Aboriginal.

Bonjah offers up a matchless, powerful mix of folk, reggae and roots music.

The Shuffle Club will get you moving with a hot blend of swing, blues, jazz and boogie.

The Whitlams have many memorable songs to share with three platinum and two gold albums to their name. Expect lush piano, melodies and magic.

The Custom Kings claim they are a secret society that operates under the radar – but their critically acclaimed mix of folk, hip hop, reggae and rock is starting to break their cover.

James Reyne and his band will be performing at Moomba. From Australian Crawl to a platinum-lined solo career, he’s never been on more solid musical ground.

Be blown away by Lowrider’s immaculate fusion of hip hop, pop and soul. You’ve heard them on the radio, now see them live!
