If drab, unexciting, overcast Northern shipbuilding towns are your home...you'll know just where The Mooncats are coming from!
Based in the biggest cul-de-sac in England, the seeds of The Mooncats were sewn many years ago. Curwen and Pablo (The Bedroom band) performed at local pubs with their idiosyncratic observational songs about the town in which they lived.........after a hiatus of a number of years, Ben and Pablo began jamming (under the alias Wizards Sleeve) and recruited Jordan.
This musical foundation needed a wordsmith, someone for whom language was a tool, and the microphone a means of deliverance.....who better than Curwen!
Formed in May 2007, The Mooncats have already begun playing all across the North West after having become one of the front runners on Barrows ever growing music scene. As of December 2007, BAFMP voted us Best Newcomer and Best Live Band :)
During our recent barrage of gigging we've had the opportunity to work with and meet some fantastic acts both local and national. The Sevens, The City Royals, The Dead Class, The Media Monkeys, Carpathia, 43p Short, Murray Lewis, Nothin' Less, Gear, Jon Byrne, Vinnie Peculiar, The Anydays, Miles Hunt (The Wonderstuff), Neville Staples
Heres what some music industry types have said about us that made us giggle: New Noise indie contenders from Barrow, all bases covered!! - The Brickyard, Carlisle Catchy As Aids - Manchester Academy 3 Barrows finest indie kids - The Canteen, Barrow The craziest band in the UK - A590 Records I would leave my family for The Mooncats - Ken

We're currently working very closely with Roberts Guitars for some exciting future developments!

glad to here it, Sem and Chay have got a good thing going at the basement!
All's well at rage towers, think we might be coming down your way in Sept at some point... being talking to Kalmer online. Would be good to sample your local fortified wines.....
Dont Forget Boys n Girls. The first EP from the boys "Adventures in Space" is being released today at Furness Fest. To bag a copy we require you to give us Five English Pounds! An absolute bargain! If you see Jordie, Curwen, Pablo or Ben give em a cuddle and £5 and you will get your mitts on one!
Is that Furness Fest? I noticed you were high on the bill. We tried to get on that but think we were a bit late :/ Yeah should be a good gig. The headline band are being tracked by quite a few record companies apparently so hopefully we might get the chance to impress a few A&R people. How did it go supporting Cajun Dance Party? x
