Moon Cresta es una banda de lo que ellos denominan power & funk, estilo que recupera los sonidos del rock y funk de los 70 sin caer en el revivalismo. Formada a finales de 1998 sobrevive hasta hoy con cambios de formación, pero consolidada como un proyecto con un gran sonido propio y personal.
Entre sus influencias encontramos clásicos que pasan por Led Zeppelin o Stevie Wonder , pero también bandas más actuales tales como Audioslave o Jamiroquai .
Después de años intensos de trabajo, el rodaje de la banda ha sido fructífero y formativo. Han tocado por circuitos dispares que van desde el humilde aunque muy gratificante “gariteo” por distintas partes del estado, hasta festivales de gran relevancia junto a bandas y artistas de renombre. Así mismo han grabado varias demos y gozado de un importante reconocimiento en los círculos musicales “no oficiales”.
La consistencia sonora de Moon Cresta está fundamentada en una muy firme base rítmica creada por riffs – en ocasiones duros y rocosos; otras veces elegantes y delicados – sobre la que se asientan canciones dirigidas a conmover el sistema nervioso. La fórmula musical a la que ha llegado Moon Cresta se define en forma de cuarteto, cuya cuadratura conforman batería, bajo, guitarra y teclados, y sobre la que orbitan las voces de sus 4 miembros. Un ejercicio de geometría cósmica que dosifica en su justa medida la fuerza y la forma, el poder y el movimiento.
