I got started on the vegetable garden this week. Last year was my first go at it. Worked a bunch of compost and stuff into the soil and ended up with more tomatoes than I knew what to do with.
This year, it seems my soil amendings have really paid off. The bed is just crawling with worms, which are a good thing to have. I just worry about severing them when I'm digging around in there. They say a worm cut in half will become 2 worms, but that could be an old wives' tale for alls I know. By the way they writhe around, I have to assume they don't like being cut in half. Beats being eaten by a bird though I'd guess.
So yeah, mostly gonna do a small variety of cherry tomatoes, and a few larger ones for sandwiches and whatnot.
