Moonfire started in 2005 under the name Divine. Back then Yves (lead guitar) and Robby (bass) played together in a band, which split up. After a few changes in band members, Geert joined as the lead singer and in 2006 Rudi came along, already becoming the fourth drummer! As this MkIV line-up was finally stable, we decided that a new name would be appropriate – so Moonfire was born in January 2007.
Moonfire plays a variety of styles – which is hard to put a label on – but maybe “alternative hard rock” comes close: everything goes, from acoustic ballads to heavy blues and rock riffs.
As a result, Moonfire has its own sound and style, which was not fabricated on purpose, but came naturally from the combination of the diverse musical influences and backgrounds of the band members: Geert used to listen a lot to singer-songwriters, Yves is still a real metal-head (but with a soft side), Rudi grew up with the classic hard rock bands of the 70’s and Robby is probably the biggest Metallica fan ever.

We're hoping to finalise our first EP by the end of 2008. It will be named Times Of Trouble. The songs featured on it are :
