*** October ***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Native Americans in their way of keeping their calendar year recognized the moon as it's keeper of time ... This months moon is traditionally known in Native American cultures by several names as you will discover below.
The Native American Moon Names for October are:
Hunters Moon or
Falling Leaves Moon
Moons are particular to gardeners through out the centuries and so the term "Planting By the Light of the Moon" comes by way of the ancient belief that crops do best when planted during certain phases of the moon. Above ground crops should be planted while the moon is getting brighter and growing fuller and is called the waxing moon, becoming a Full Moon, (an example of above ground crops would be beans, tomatoes, and peppers) while underground crops do best when the moon is waning, or going into it's dark phase as it changes to a New Moon. (an example would be potatoes, radishes and carrots)
Surprise....Another Taste of Tommy Emmanuel!
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.
The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.
If I have mentioned you and you know who you are... know this one thing about me...I have embraced you and your music like Elizabeth Barrett Browning has said..."How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace." and to this I believe says it all....signed "The one who lives on feelings and thoughts never lost to the dark...I choose to shine....The Moon Maiden ...Joyce!
Hi Ya!~
Thank you for visiting my pages with this awesome network and community called Myspace.com and being a "friend!"...and if you're not I welcome and invite you!
I am the PR/Promotions Director for WRRW-FM 100.9 Williamsburg Public Radio,(www.wrrw.fm) where we feature and support the independent artist charting for Triple A, Roots, The Americana Charts, New Music Weekly and most recently FMQB. I am also a member of an 1830 historic antebellum home called Ferry Plantation House in Va. Beach, Va. where I volunteer & installed a formal Herb Garden in the English tradition. I am also a Horticulturist, and freelance as a photographer.
I love to camp and commune with the nature spirits, stargaze where I find perspective in my hectic but vivid life. Walking on the beach with my eyes closed, sloshing my feet in the waves helps to free my soul...
Writing, which helps to center my thoughts and processes. Taking long strolls on winter days...Listening to the wonderful tunes of singer/songwriters, the special ones who choose to share the gift...
Grant Austin Taylor and his band at HK on the Bay in Va Beach, featuring Charlie Austin on the fiddle .... Jimmy Wiseman on bass; Ralph Copley on drums
Folks who believe in love and that life is meant to be shared, who are kind and truly care about the life and love we have in each other.!!!
Folks who enjoy art... all forms of it, every facet and spectrum of it like from crayons to poetic words, from murals to museums, concerts and street corners. All of those who find common ground in creating and assimiliating those thoughts from music to words, paintings to performances, and who can recognize the gift and appreciate the artist who shares it shamelessly, like kids and the kid in all of us who ventures out to play, and wants to know everyone's name on the playground. Yeah, the world could never have enough art or artists. It all serves to inspire. BE INSPIRED it makes for the fondest of journeys.
Here's your invite! As the promotions director for WRRW Williamsburg Public Radio (formally WYOU) I encourage you to send your music to Program Director: John McClung so your CD/mp3 file can be submitted & considered for air play, which includes streaming on the web. You will soon discover WRRW is very big on supporting the Indy artists. We are an "Artist Advocate Friendly Station", You can even register your website link on our home page and also post your concert events and make announcements (CD releases, touring with, festival info, etc) in our "Speak Up" and in the Calendar section,( www.wrrw.fm ) You will also be one click away from streaming our broadcast.
