My Babies! (Okay, fine, nephew and niece, but close enough...)
Meeting people, chatting with people, adding people to my contacts so I'll have a friend in each and every place I go...
Writing, HTML, webdesign, outdoor activities, poetry, animals, pirates, philosophy, travel, archaeology, chocolate, finding booty, tree hugging on occassion, finding lost kittens and giving them homes (even if they happen to be mine: anyone in need of a cat?), trekking the Great Unknown, research, figure drawing, laughing when I'm sad, visiting friends/family, being sad, being happy, guitar, lots of other stuff.
Music
Alternative, Adult Alternative (it's a radio station, so i figure it's a type too right?), Folk, Rock, Classical, Techno, Dance, Israeli (yes, all of it, even Pop and Oriental), New Country (haven't listened in awhile) whatever... I'm not too picky.
Movies
Princess Bride, Team America, Ever After, Skeleton Key, Garden State, Everlasting Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Last Unicorn, City of Angels made me cry, anything with Johnny Depp, PoTC, Ice Age 2 (hilarious), They and other scary movies/horror movies, any GOOD Stephen King remakes... etc etc
Television
SIMPSONS... whatever else happens to be on. CSI, Desperate Housewives, Sunday night TV and Inuyasha when I am in the US. Now I have no time and no TV. I really like ??? ????? Eretz Nehaderet ("Great/Nice/Pleasing Land/Country" forgive my translation) a Hebrew comedy show (I can usually get the point, plus they're hilarious) and the History Channel. And Friends, of course, which Israel is IN LOVE with! I love horror, mystery, historical documentaries (classical and before), stuff...
Books
STEPHEN KING.
Ummmm
Anything with photography of the body. Art books. Archaeology books with photos <--attention span-->. Comic books. Far Side. Koontz is pretty good. Door Into Summer, Heinlen: excellent book
Books I was reading when I left:
Rose Madder
Catch 22
World According to Garp
The History of Jerusalem
Hebrew-English Dictionary
Dick For A Day
Bitch
Prozac Nation
The Second Sex
Podkayne of Mars
Right now:
Girl from Rosh Zin (novel in Hebrew)
Introduction to Anthropology (from way back in the day, refresher)
Time Travelor's Wife
Trout Fishing in America
Matilda by Roald Dahl (in Hebrew)
My Siddur, Sephardi Style ;)
some other books, don't remember... Hebrew books, archaeology journals, articles for class, and some other random stuff I pick up now and then!
Heroes
Me. no, just kidding. I dunno. I have people I look up to, like my brother for being different and insanely unique and still an icon to all children and adults he meets.
My friend Iselin, because at the age of 24 she's in University learning the language (Hebrew) of a land she visited for 3 years (Israel), in a language she is also learning (Swedish) and has traveled everywhere else, figured out what she believes in, has kindness and courtesy and generosity down pat, rescues injured birds from peril, finds good bargains and has a wonderful sense of fashion, has an awesome sense of humor, will never let a friend down if she can, is an awesome Viking (close enough to Pirate), is the first friend to buy me something for my birthday that was absolutely perfect, already made her own music CD, volunteers and works and travels everywhere, and still finds time to bake Norwegian Brown Bread.
Indiana Jones for making damn good movies (even though he was a pot hunter) that make me wonder why I *just* dig holes instead of chase pirates and become an international spy.
Anyone who fights for diversity, stands up for themselves, creates awesomeness, spreads peace, is damn good at what they do no matter what the mediocrity of the sitatuation... (and other stuffs)

Efshar limtzoah oti poh:
moonstART on LJ I'm still twenty-something although I don't update this too often. Living in Haifa, Israel, since December 2004 and doing a lot. I have about a million projects I'm working on, including my website. I finished five months and then some of Hebrew Ulpan and now I'm a student in Grad School at Haifa University studying Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology. Now I only have my thesis but I was taking a few classes in various things, mostly Prehistory (with a concentration in Art). They were all in Hebrew. It's more than a full-time job translating and getting things done, but I've gotten by so far. I used to work part time as "Resource Developer" (Grant writing and fund raising ) for the SDC of Haifa (I co-created the website and did all the graphics), which helps the Hebrew and learning me some Arabic. I worked in the Archaeology lab illustrating artifacts and currently create a 3D virtual reproduction of a Natufian cave we excavate, or whatever else they need me to do! I tutor English several times a week, volunteer/work on digs and take tons of field trips.
Yeah. The other days I'm either traveling a little, playing (learning slowly) guitar, making stuff (sewing and drawing), exploring Haifa, learning Russian/Ameharit/Arabic/Dutch and thinking about Italian, and a million other things. Very exciting.
Other then that (wait, there's more!)... I'm an archaeologist (you probably figured that huh?), worked all over the Southeast for a few years before Israel. I was born in Ohio, and spent the rest of my life in 1-NC, 2&4-SC, 3-Upstate NY and 5-GA. I have a degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting and Drawing, I LOVE drawing the figure (any willing models out there?) and doodling, although I haven't done anything serious in awhile. I always plan to, but that's how it goes sometimes. Maybe I just don't have the right state of mind now, but hopefully it'll come back to me. Have you seen it?
Anything else? Go look at the website My World Tip 2008 and come back when you're ready to get serious! (Here's my random weirdness profile, happened to run across it today...) About Me "I live in Haifa. I study at Haifa U. Archaeology. MA. I'm an artist, worked as an archaeologist but work as a Resource Developer. They call me the Cat Lady. I love green things. I'm not a hippy, but probably was in a past life. I don't have an accent in the US but everyone speaks to me in English anyway. I'm a confused dis-organized person wandering through life looking for something or someone to amuse me. I love thunderstorms and snowstorms because they're cozy. I'm learning the guitar and how to make stone tools. But not at the same time. That'll come later. I am master of everything except when I give it up, and I will probably speak about it every fifteen minutes but not remember. I think I have an early-stage of Alzheimers, which began when I was five. I hug trees and like getting dirty. I design websites when I'm bored and draw nudes when I'm not. Tea is good, but coffee is addictive."
Shachar, My "Lil Sister", helped me make my own fan art. Granted it's a bit cheesy (she asked me to write something awesome about myself in English) but it was fun, and the girl is fast! So now I have something new to play with. Here it is:
Who I'd like to meet: Johnny Depp... Anyone have his number?
---
Anyone who likes to chat, talk, email, penpal, whatever, as long as you have a sense of humor and something unique to say; I have an attention span about <--this--> big.
People who are not too normal and not too scary. Normal people scare me and scary people bore me. Looking to meet non-strange non-boring people in or around Haifa for hanging out, and kewl places like the rest of Israel, Holland, France, South America, and other neat places I can travel to in the near future.
People I'm NOT looking for:
Guys who send anti-semetic Jesus mail. I love y'all but if I wanted to be saved I'd have done it years ago.
Smelly Boys. This includes anyone who only sends messages that describe how much they like me, even though they live in Timbuktu and are 40 years older than I am. Sorry.
Club/Dance/Business/OtherBoringSpam people.
Please don't add me unless you send me a message telling me who you are and why you want me to add you. If I know you like, from highschool, college or real life, and you have a recognizable pic/nick/something, I will add you. Otherwise, you could be some crazy lunatic, or worse, some boring normal person. I do check profiles. Please please, send me a message first!
You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!
In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.

Rrrrrrraaaccchhhaeeel! Hi :). Wanted to ask you a few questions about the dig in Tel Aviv. My friend Reijo is really interested in the particulars because he used to be an Archaelogy major. Y'know, the "Who, what, where, when, how?" spiel. *hugs* Hope you're doing great, and I'm still gearing up to come to see you in July!! Much love, ~E

I need a facebook. Found an old phone number for Jessie. I don't think its right tho. Are you still in Haifa? How many years is this now? I've known u for 5 years now...great times all those years ago. I miss it. I'm still here in Nashville, working at a hotel with a graphic design degree under my belt. I don't know where that's gonna go just yet. I want to do artifact illustration but I'm not sure as to where to start. I hope to hear from you soon and hear all about what's goin on with you. Love, B
Hey, I have fallen into the habit of watching Globe Trekker on the local Public Broadcasting System channel late at night. The usual hostess, at least in the episodes i have seen, kinda reminds me of you, just a little. Well, enough to make me miss Savannah a little bit more and even Ft. Stewart. Even makes me regret not taking you to that Thai restaurant which is not there anymore. This is from a panoramic shot, so it doesn't really do justice.... but i have to ask, how else to you suppose i am to get my Rachael-fix?
Hey chica. Well... thanks alot! I meet you. You're the first art student I ever meet. And now I'm freakin' graduating from art school next week...geeze...way to inspire an education. *rolls eyes* Ok...so that was the nerdiest little rant I've done all day...lol I hope you've been well. Love you alot and hope to hear from you soon.
