Moonwrath was born in 2006, when six musicians gathered through their lust for playing fast, melodic and heavy music. Everyone was greatly inspired by the Scandinavian metal wave, with bands such as Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Kalmah, etc.
The first original compositions mixed a lot of musical influences, from black metal to symphonic and epic music, and from thrash to neo-classical. The first live performances took place in 2007, and this year also saw a line-up reshuffle, with a new drummer and the eviction of the keyboarder, whose parts are now played live with samples and a computer-based interface.
With this strong musician core, Moonwrath recorded a demo in 2008 and played many concerts through the North of France. The style of the band progressively evolved to become something more folk/pagan metal oriented, still with important melodic and neo-classical parts. A new demo is now in progress and will be released as soon as possible.
"Moonwrath" stands for both the heavy symphonic part of the music we play, evoked by the Moon, and the speed, rage and power of metal music, that is Wrath. |
