Everyone you hear influences you to some degree but the ones I've listened to the most would prob be Neil Young, Tom Waits, Roy Harper, John Spillane and Don Mescall. And the uncles.
Starting in Australia at The Port Fairy Folk Festival, opening for Paddy Keenan, Eleanor McEvoy, and Damien Dempsey all over Oz in April he then hopped across to New Zealand for the quiet life... beautiful scenery, adventure sports, sheep, and even some music. Gav then returned home to spend the summer in Ireland recouping, reclining, reflecting and recording as well as gigging and hosting the now legendary sitting room sessions in de Barra's, Clonakilty.
Summer 2008 should produce the final mixes for a new album to be released later in the year. Watch this space for details...
Hey Gav, How're things boy...any sceal with ya...will be out here a bit longer...ANand busy here organising as usual..he involved with an international guitar festival here in 2 weeks--calling it G-Taranaki..Vernon Reed and Gilby Clarke, Joe satriani to name but a few..should be good..similar to the Clon festival..workshops etc....Hope all well with ya..I have written a few new ones..coming along..will get them up on myspace over next while..how things going with you?
By the way..must start booking loads..I'll book us for the Courtyard and Hacketts..I'll forward you some dates and we can go from there..also I'm running an acoustic night now on Sunday nights in the old Tikki Lounge (The Infirmary Bar)..nice venue..Gonna call The Cavern Sessions..talk to you about it later.Cheers.
