I love to write. . . writing is the single most difficult, lonely (and yet liberating experience) of my life.

Right now most of my music is from the 1970's. My high school memories are best voiced through music.
Movies
I like film noir, my favorite is "The Maltese Falcon." In the final analysis you could say I'm a sucker for any quality "Classic Film" like To kill A Mocking Bird, Cool Hand Luke and In the Heat of the Night. New films show Hollywood's inability to tap in to what is happening in the hearts and lives of real Americans.

Television is becoming a real bore.
Books
Maya Angelou is my very favorite author right now then there's Jim Palmer, Nate Larkin, Dr. Gary Moon, The letters of Dr. King and especially James Lee Burke.

I never would have thought when I saw you all those days missing your son while he was in Iraq that we would be family one day, and we'd spend the second deployment missing him together, but I've never been so glad you married such a stubborn woman!
