Matt Baxley. It's just me. I do all the writing, playing, production, mixing, mastering, and everything else. However, I love to collaborate and jam with other musicians, writers, and producers. I collaborate frequently with my friend Dan Banks, whose site is at www.myspace.com/danbanksmusic .
One day, I hope to assemble a band to take my music to stages everywhere. We'll see what happens!

Sounds Like
I sound like pop progressive funk rock 70's throwback slightly spacey R&B jazz-tinged electroacoustic music with words for your heart, soul, and mind. 'Nuff said.
My name is Matt Baxley, better known in the music world as MooT BooXLé (pronounced BOOX-lee). The moniker was given to me by some friends in high school about 10 years ago, and it just sort of stuck.
I have been involved with music for my entire life. I started playing piano when I was three years old, and my love for music has grown steadily in the twenty-three years since then. I have been given the ability to play many other instruments as well, including Drums, Bass, Guitar, Saxophones, Trumpet, and the Talkbox. All of the sounds that you hear on my records were made by me.
I used to teach music for a living, mostly to middle and high school age children. I still teach some piano, guitar, or drum lessons here and there. I went to Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. I do some engineering and production work on the side, which is something I really enjoy.
I'm a total geek about music, and I collect records and CD's like crazy.
I am a huge fan of music and technology from the 1970's. A lot of my musical gear is from that era. I believe that there are only two kinds of music: good and bad! What I consider bad music is that which doesn't come from the heart, doesn't serve any positive purpose, or is made for no other reason than to make money. Nothing wrong with making money with music (I really like to!), but that cannot be the sole reason for doing it. I believe music is a universal language that is capable of breaking down all barriers of race, culture, philosophy, economic status, education, or language.
I enjoy meeting new people, sharing ideas and thoughts among friends, and generally being the best human being that I can be. I strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I love everybody, and have no real enemies to speak of. Most everyone who has met me likes me. So what are you waiting for? Check me out!
