About me:
MoreDances is a Modern Dance Company (formerly Moore & More Dances)was founded in 1996 by it's former artistic director, Connie Aiken Moore. Janet Clayton-Reid is now serving as the Artistic Director and Choreographer for the company and was appointed to this position by Ms. Moore and the company's board of directors in the fall of 2000. Ms. Clayton-Reid has successfully fulfilled her position since that time.
Since it's inception, the company has performed at the Detroit Opera House, Wayne State University, The University of Michigan, Mendelssohn Theatre in Ann Arbor, The Southfield Centre for the Arts, Hope College in Holland, MI, Dance Gallery of Ann Arbor, Azar's Gallery of Birmingham, The Community House in Birmingham, and Eastern Michigan University, Lansing Community College and Groves High School. The company showcases the choreography of director Janet Clayton-Reid, invited guests such as founding director, Connie Moore and noted Michigan choreographers such as Kelly Gottesman and Holly Hobbs.
MoreDances has received funding to commisiion outstanding guest choreographers for such artists as Peter Sparling, Bill De Young, Laurie Eisenhower, Whitley Setrakian, Jessica Fogel, Julianne O'Brien Pedersen, Ruth Leney-Midcliff and Ray Robinson to create new works of choreography for it's dancers.
MoreDances has worked with many of the public schools in Detroit, Pontiac and Southfield to bring quality innovative and educational dance programs to school children. MoreDances has a long standing relationship with Omni Arts in Education, Inc. to provide residency programs and lecture/performance/demonstrations to the children of the Detoit Public Schools.
The company's residence is at Dance Expressions Dance Studio in St. Clair Shores Michigan.
