Austin's MORE FIRE is carrying the torch of rock 'n roll into the future with high-voltage guitars, pure energy live shows, and a knack for writing catchy, yet driving, songs…
Formed in 2002, the band quickly established themselves as a solid live act, constantly performing throughout the state of Texas, and the surrounding areas. In 2005 they released their self-produced full length debut "Strike Anywhere" to favorable reviews. They were on a roll.
Due to differences amongst them, MORE FIRE temporarily split in March '06. But after a short break and some hard thinking, the three songwriters of the group(Damage, Jimmy O., Fuego) decided to reform. To round out the sound, the band called on old friend Ed Holocaust on guitar. Drummer Chris Chapa joined up in July '06. They recorded and released the EP "Bad Mouth", soon thereafter. Chapa's time with the band was short-lived, and in Spring 2007, they recruited drummer Breadstick and got to work. They've never been better.
Their electrifying performances have earned them spots with The Bellrays, The Pink Swords, Jay Mascus, Amplified Heat, Poison Idea, The Last Vegas, Avenged Sevenfold, The Spades, Born to Lose, The Crank County Daredevils and too many others to remember...
Make no mistake; MORE FIRE is a rock and roll force to be reckoned with. If you are searching for more balls, more excitement, more life in your music, MORE FIRE is the real deal… no frills, no crying, no bullshit: just tons of in your face, pedal to the metal, furious rock 'n roll insanity not to be missed…
In the Spring of '07, Fuego took a leave of absence to focus on fatherhood. He makes no bones about his decision: "I love my bandmates like brothers. However, no band I'll ever be in will be as kickass as my kid is. I didn't feel that I had the energy to give 100% to my kid and 100% to this band. It just wasn't possible. If you know anything about MORE FIRE and our live shows, then you know what I mean. So I did what anyone would do. I don't regret it for a second."
In his absence, the rest of the band has decided to keep on trucking with their new band, YEAR OF THE KID.
